Whatever it takes to get a top 5 pick next year.

Short of breaking up the core 5. ANYTHING, I'm talking like 3 first round picks, or maybe more. We don't need to keep bringing in young talent, we have that. But unless we want to be just a good team, that maybe makes some noise in the playoffs one year, but never even makes the finals. We need a superstar. I would say just play the young guys 38 minutes a game this year. But that team wouldn't be bad enough, so get a 10-15 pick, and trade whatever it takes to move into the top 5. You want even a chance at a title? Julius Randle, Aaron Gordon, Jabari Parker. (No one is giving up Wiggins.) GET ONE OF THEM. otherwise we are good, like a team that gets lucky, plays in the WCF one year, then gets swept by the Spurs. That's good, but I want more. Get it done!

You won't crack top-5 next year without giving up Kanter/Favors and maybe even two of young core. Something like Favors, Hayward and taking on a bad contract may do it.

I don't think anyone is going to trade top 5 picks in next year's draft. Maybe giving up one of the better young players and a pick would get a pick in the 6 - 10 range, a bit like what was proposed this year, but I doubt it.

The Jazz are going to have to do their own losing this year.

That said, I'm not ready to simply worship next year's draft class. There are 2 - 3 players in that draft that look like franchise players, but the others may not be worth selling the farm for.

Wiggins sure
Randle yes probably
Parker maybe
Andrew Harrison okay probably

I like Noah Vonleh as an athletic wing mixed in with the players we have.

As much as I liked Marcus Smart this year, I don't think he fundamentally changes a franchise.

Eh. I say, wait and see. Don't sign vets, go young. If December hits and you are in the playoff race, go get a vet to get you better. If you suck, that's fine as well.

If the Jazz had a top 5 pick would you trade it for future picks???

No. If you want a top 5 pick you need to either be very bad or very lucky.

I think if we just play all youth and don't shore up our depth much we're looking at about 27-30 wins. Add an injury here or there and we could easily be in the sub 20 win area.

Lindsay has to play it smart, because if you give Corbin some tools to use to win games he's gonna. So just don't go out and sign anybody. Bring in a few undrafted rookies and stock up on inexperience. Trade for a couple wastes of space like Beans and Richard Jefferson and add a few future assets in the process.

Then cross your fingers next year when the ping pong balls start flying.

If we play whoever we've got now it's a 35-40 wins team. Don't laugh. It appears like half of the East and at least 1/3 of the West will be tanking heavily next season.

The NBA should rig the lottery so we get the Mormon (Parker) next year. We deserve it.

Oh and no thanks to Aaron Gordon. Not a fan.

Okay, new question: Does ANYONE think with the team we currently have + whatever (realistic) free agents we could get, and plus draft picks that we would get, (assuming we were playing to win) can EVER win a title? Memphis was swept in the WCF, I think our ceiling is better than Memphis, but not much better. I still am not quite sure how the Mavericks won the title two years ago, but if every young player we have hit their ceiling, i suppose we could be better than that team was. Maybe....?

Smart. I would also include Andrew Harrison as a top choice.

There are also several players in tier 2 that I would like to help compliment the Jazz.

A somewhat realistic option (at least, more so than Wiggins, Parker etc.) would be Vonleh.

Glad I'm not the only one a little down on Aaron Gordon. People say he MIGHT be the next Griffin--who is totally overrated. Then you throw in the tweener label on top of that and I'm not so excited.
