Whittingham to ASU?

IF this is true at all, I'd expect this to be a Whittingham ploy to increase his own salary from the U than to actually jump ship to ASU.

Coaches do this all the time. They "show" interest in another school in order to get something they want out of their current employer.
 
I would say there is no way Whitt is even considering it.

He has been pretty clear that he wants to stay at Utah unless an NFL job is offered.

Plus, Utah is in a prime position to have a special season next year. If Whitt is going to leave, his value will be at an all time high after next year.

This ASU BS is probably a complete fabrication by ASU in an attempt to get their real target to accept less money than he asked for.

They've already been spurned twice that we know of, and who knows how many times privately.

This keeps their fans and boosters from going postal. At the same time, any coach ASU is looking at suddenly "knows" ASU is not as desperate as it first appeared.

I'd bet money that Whitt doesn't go. ASU is no longer a bigger program than Utah. They aren't big enough to steal Utah's head coach. They can make Norm Chow their head coach if they want though, lol.
 
Ten bucks says Utah will announce a raise and extension for Whitt in the next few days...

It was also reported on cbssportsline that Penn State is after Whitt as well.
 
Penn State needs to strap their football program into the chair if they want to retain ANY kind of dignity. **** them
