Larkin is considered a better defender than he is because his coach knew he can't defend and moved him off the offensive players. He guarded the guys that don't look to score...
Larkin can do that in the NBA too.

I wasn't comparing them. I know it's a terrible comparison.
Just saying, to no one in particular, that shooting translates to the NBA, but does not necessarily mean success in the NBA.

Wait so his coach put a 5'11" point guard on players other than the other teams pg?
Looks like he has a hard time staying in front of his man and is repeatedly playing catch-up.
If both Schroder and Larkin are available at #14, which is a better fit for the Jazz?
since when has the defensive capabilities of the pg in the nba been a game changer. Granted, rondo, westbrook, and few others are able to make an impact. But none of the 2013 draft class pg's are anywhere near those guys. Burke and schroder......maybe, big maybe. If defense is your measuring stick, you're ****ed in this draft, imo.
Jesus, unless we're able to move up, #14 and #21 will be role players, at best. And even if we do move up, none of the players the Jazz would target are sure fire starters, maybe 1-5 but the Jazz won't be able to get in there without giving up a proven asset.
So unless we're able to get into position to get McCollum, Burke, or MCW, then we're looking at a role player. Stop fooling yourself into thinking these picks will somehow be the next Deron Williams, not going to happen.
Better start warming up to Larkin as our 2nd string point guard folks.
Yup.
Larkin is the only guy that looks like he could potentially be the steal of the draft. Shroeder is the other option, but he's so young and raw that he's not much more than a gamble at this point. The rest are unathletic, not long enough, etc. I'd like to pull for a guy like Wolters who is an incredibly deceptive dribbler, but who wants the next possibly Calderon who will be signed to a contract they're not worth in a few years?
I'd rather trade out of the draft completely if it meant grabbing someone like Franklin @ 21. He's not even worth the rookie scale salary requirements.
