Why Bibby did what he did!!!

Bibby gave up a 6 million dollar salary for next year to sign on with the Heat this year! Doesn't make sense, does it? Here's why he did it:"In a move that must have mortified union executive director Billy Hunter, Mike Bibby became the first player to buy into David Stern's give-back proposal big time by agreeing to forfeit next season's $6.2 million Wizards' obligation in order to sign with the title-contending Heat as a peripheral provider.

It occurs to me Bibby is represented by David Falk, the same Agent Orange who tried to decertify the union in '98, the last time the league had a lockout, resulting in a 50-game season.

In all probability, Falk is 100 percent convinced the NBA will lock out the players July 1 when a settlement regarding a new Collective Bargaining Agreement can't be reached only this time it'll cost the population the entire season.

In other words, Falk no doubt advised his client, 33 on May 13, he might as well compete for a title while he can. He's wouldn't have seen a dime of that 6 million dollar contract next year anyway!

In that context, Bibby gave up nothing.

Heat made a great decision by getting Bibby last night. Quicker and stronger point guards blow right past him. That Magic comeback was great last night.

Im guessing Bibby did what he did, because he's ready to call it quits, but wants one or two more goes at a title he was probably screwed out of in Sac town.

....most NBA clowns would never leave 6 million bucks on the table for a possibility at a ring.....Bibby would not have done it either....but there will be no 6 million to collect next year! The lock out means NOBODY, even with signed contracts, get's paid! Those salaries are forever lost.

...explain to me how those 3 guys left 6 million to sign with another team? Your the moron! Nobody was going to pay those guys anymore than what they got with the teams they signed with. Maybe a couple thousand more, but certainly not 6 millions bucks!
