Because the Jazz with Hardy were in a completely different spot. The Grizzlies had (have) a contending team, but the offense was limited and so reliant on Ja. And Taylor Jenkins was willing to hire an unknown coach as the lead assistant and just hand over the whole offense to him. Meanwhile, the Jazz are all-in on Hardy, and have a lot more issues than simply renewing their offensive playstyle.
