Why wasn't it the Jazz?

Ingles just signed a 1-year deal with MN for for 3.3.million, mostly for the veteran leadership. Why wasn't it the Jazz who signed him for that exact purpose? We have a ton of young players and not enough savvy veterans ready to talk and share the basketball wisdom. Plus Joe is the Jazz legend and fans would love to have him back for a year. Finally, that is how you establish the long-term team culture and grow local icons who could later transition to the coaching staff, announcing... and who are in general represent the team - and Jingles would have been perfect in that role.

I just think that the new owner and Ainge feel no emotional connection to the Jazz of the past and are happy to jettison all players they have inherited for 20 bucks. Clearing the deck. And they are wrong.
