Will Alec Burks Play Again?

Given his latest surgery for "debridement" of the ankle. The surgery was performed in New York. Aren't there doctors in Salt Lake City? I bumped into a friend at the gym last night who is a doctor. The MD said this isn't like getting your teeth cleaned and could indicate something bad is happening in AB's body. Holy shades of Greg Oden and Brandon Roy.

So basically you are panicking. As a pro athlete who the Jazz have invested millions in they find the best doctors they can for surgeries. Athletes go to places like New York and L.A. all the time for surgeries.

Slow your roll and let's see what develops.

It is a fairly common artrhoscopic procedure that increase ankle flexibility and reduces pain. It removes excess tissue and bone spurs.

I don't know, gais. "Debridement" sounds like Alec and the Jazz are getting divorced.

"It removes excess tissue and bone spurs." I think the excess tissue is the issue if it became necrotic. This is Burk's third surgery for the Paul Pierce dirty play.

He's on the books for 2 more seasons and this is going to help him moving forward.. there's nothing to see here..

If Burks is as brittle as his harshest critics here say, it's good that he's out now recovering so he'll have less chances to hurt himself before they need him down the stretch / in the playoffs.

No he will never play again. And there are no doctors in SLC. Clears that right up.

Also everyone in the city of Utah prays on Sunday(no exceptions) and priests tell their community to use praisers in order to overcome disease.

Don't forget that we all go to church to vote and the church just submits one big ballot with the word "Utah" and a giant check mark next to the Republican candidate.

Not really concerned. He's been an afterthought to me for about 3-4 years now. I've never had faith in him on the court. I wish him well in health but the second he gets healthy and looks good on the court, I'd trade him. IMO, he should not be part of our long-terms plans when we have to consider Hayward, Favors, Hood, Exum, Hill, and Lyles.

If he can wind up on a team with a medical staff that knows what the **** they are doing then he'll play 65+ games a season.
