With Kobe out. Do the Spurs tank to avoid the Jazz?

Look at this from Pop's perspective .. healthy young Jazz lineup vs the LA vets that haven't got it done all year you figure Spurs could just waltz away with 4 wins with little to no trouble
.
Of course the spurs very well might be the 2 seed and not really even care knowing that the Jazz or Lakers will be flushed in the first round

I think the Spurs would rather have the #1 seed and look ahead to round 2. Neither the Lakers nor the Jazz would take more than a game or two from the Spurs. Besides there's no guarantee that the Jazz win one of their last two games. If both the Lakers and Jazz lose two games, the Lakers keep the 8th seed.

that would be funny almost if both Lakers and Jazz dropped two games ....it would show how weak both teams were and it would give about the worst first round match up ever!

You have to figure Spurs mostly just want the top seed .. so they will probably try and win out

The Spurs will destroy the Jazz or the Lakers
They will have a real hard time against Houston or Golden State.
They have a lot of incentive to win and get the first seed

look at this from pop's perspective .. Retarded jazz coach with 4 games of playoff experience vs the la coach who had wcf and lots of playoff experience. vs the jazz you figure spurs could just waltz away with 4 wins with little to no trouble

You're forgetting the Corbin factor. Just because we have young healthy players, doesn't mean they'll be playing much.

Spurs have very little chance of getting the #1 seed. OKC owns the tie-breaker and has home games remaining against Sacramento and Milwaukee. Win both and it doesn't matter what SA does. I think it far more likely the Spurs sit Duncan against GS and Minnesota. Frankly, I'm surprised he made the trip to LA. Pop may have been wiser to leave him in SA and let him sit out the back-to-back road games.

Srsly if the Spurs get the Jazz or Lakers, I wouldn't be surprised to see Pops rest some of his boys.

Spurs shouldn't be concerned with either. And honestly, a Lakers team with a freed Dwight, Pau, Nash, and Ron Artest might not be that bad. Assuming they're healthy enough.
