Yet again, another, oh no, not another, trade Big Al thread

How about we trade Al Jefferson number 25 to the Cleveland Cavs for Anderson Varejao and Daniel Gibson and their first over all pick this year.

Ya we eat alot of contract. But that is why they do it. And we get to draft a stud plus we get a three point shooting guy, and a hustle guy

Al Jefferson gets to go play with a good point guard where he can be successful. ;)

win win for both teams.

What do you guys think? I have a ESPN trade machine link. It works

KOC says that he's comfortable bringing all 3 bigs back next year. Pointed out Paul improved as a 3. I'm hoping he's posturing.

I think KOC would be open to trading Jefferson for a pick. But I don't think that will happen given Jefferson's play during these playoffs.

So I think KOC will stand pat. Start Jefferson at C, Favors at PF and tell Millsap to shape up to play SF next year. That brings Kanter off the bench in '13 and ready to start in '14.

Come '14, we re-sign Millsap to play SF (with 1 year of SF under his belt, it should be obvious whether he can play there or not). If he can't - sign him anyway to play backup PF. Favors starts at PF and Kanter ready to start at C. We simply lets Jefferson walk (or a sign & trade for trade exception).

That's the Utah Jazz way. KOC won't make a big trade for C or PF. Hey'll simply overlay experience with inexperience and let the rookie grow into the job (ala Millsap & Favors). We stay consistently in the playoffs but we're not gonna win it all most years.

Cleveland isn't trading their first round pick this year. Not going to happen. Not for Al Jefferson.

Jazz aren't trading for Verejao because they don't want to pay him $9,036,364 for the 13-14 season.

A much better trade with Cleveland is Jefferson for Casspi, Cleveland's first in '13, Sacramento's first (that has tons of protections on it), and hopefully wrangle a Miami or Laker draft pick from them as well.

I pretty much agree with you. I don't think Al is going anywhere. Im just trying to dream of a team without him(sorry Al, I know you are reading).

It's going to be a long offseason. We are all going to be building up anticipation that something might happen, but it won't. They get me every year.

Yeah, because that's much more reasonable.

I think that's one of the dirty little secret of a team like ours. We can't afford to have an "off" year. That's why KOC is trying to build this young team while staying relevant.

KOC's main plan year in year out, is to stay competitive and make the playoffs while developing the next DWill or Favors. Occasionally we'll hit a "Malone" or a "Stockton" and hopefully we advance in the playoffs. But don't expect us to go out and make a big splash anytime soon.

Ok, but what do you think of the trade?

Do it.

Varejao will look mentally handicapped out there 1/2 the time, but at least he won't bring everyone down to loser-town like Jefferson does.

****!

I Guess what everyone is saying is Al Jefferson doesn't have any trade value. Which means he isn't going anywhere?
