Your choice for the next head coach of the Jazz

Who would you want the Jazz to hire out of these three coaching candidates?

When Corbin became coach I questioned whether or not he was a vocal enough leader take control of the team. I think Griffin is a nice guy from the interviews I see. I do get a Corbin vibe from him, though.
 
I went with Griffin mainly because he's an assistant for Tom Thibodeau.

Is this a good reason? Not really. My only defense is Thibodeau wouldn't hire and keep around someone who doesn't know what he's doing.

Also, upon further research, Scott Skiles quite likes Griffin's character and work-ethic and hired him as a behind-the-bench assistant. And then TT promoted him.

The GS deal was ALWAYS about the draft picks. The only reason to try to resurrect RJ, Biedrins and Rush would have been to flip them in another deal. DL has been anything BUT timid in his behavior. He moved up in the last draft, made another couple of trades to get players he wanted. Then he went full rebuild with the GS deal. I'm not really concerned about who decides to workout out in Salt Lake. Their agents limit the number of workouts to 8-10. If Lindsey doesn't already have a depth chart for the 1st round, I'd be surprised. I'd also be surprised if it moved very much after all the film, combine and workouts they've already seen. Just because they haven't all come to Utah doesn't mean he hasn't seen guys workout. IINM, the Vonleh and Embiid workouts were attended by several teams.

Jazz also need to stock the Stampede roster, which is new.

As for the "scrubs," every team has several on their roster (even San Antonio). Roster has to be 13 and after most teams pay their top players, they're signing a few minimum salary vets and then backfilling the rest the same way the Jazz do: justy trying to find guys who contribute in practice, are great team-players and might come in in a pinch and get a few loose balls or make a couple of shots.

Whoa buddy. I'm not saying he isn't prepared for the draft, or timid, and I knew the GSW deal was for the draft picks, not the players. I also realize every team needs some cheap specialists and hustle guys.

I am just wondering why we seem to be bargain hunting for a coach. It has never seemed like we've tried going full throttle for Stockton or JVG (not his bro. Can't say that he wants what his bro wants). You know a locker room would follow either of those men off a cliff. A great coach doesn't need to be a big name, but most don't always inherit a situation as young as ours. How do we evaluate the players and strength of the team if we're also unsure about the coach's development?

Starting @ 15:52, Spencer Checketts asks JVG why he thinks this would be an appealing landing spot. Here are some of his responses:
Ownership... I think the Miller family has proven they are committed to Salt Lake City, the Jazz. They've proven they can put championship caliber teams together.

Management. I think they've always had great management. Kevin O'Connor. Now Dennis Lindsey. I think that would be appealing.

Stability... The western conference is brutal. The draft lottery didn't go there way, BUT I don't doubt that they are going to be good.

When you take a head coaching job, you want a chance. You want to be evaluated realistically, and I think the Miller family has done that with their coaches. I think their management has historically done that as well. ...again, what you're looking for is a real chance, and that is what the Utah Jazz have always given their coach. When you put it all together, I think it's an attractive job.

Gordon Monson then says there are a lot of fans that would like to see him here, to which JVG responded:

I never like to talk about individual jobs, but as far as coaching goes... Listen, I have a really good job, but I miss the competition and comradely, certainly, ... of coaching an NBA team.

JVG then starts talking the obvious about both parties in any search needing mutual fits. He then brings up Dennis Lindsey and says

I've worked with him for years in Houston. He's an outstanding basketball guy. He's got the highest level of character and work ethic, and I think you guys are in great hands there. No matter which way he decides to go in the coaching decision.

let me be clear. I am not going to bemoan a Snyder or Griffin coach, but I would like to at least know Stockton and JVG were offered the position. It is imperative they get it right this time.
 
I'd take Boylen over the options listed above. He's done as much as any of those guys.

Since coaching salaries don't go against the cap, why would they have to pinch pennies on a coaching hire? Hard for me to believe that the Miller enterprise would suddenly hit hard times if they paid market or above market prices for a good head coach.

Uh oh. Lindsey's smokescreen is apparently working. He has us talking about these guys and feeling down, so then we start clamoring for Boylen. The man he wanted all along.

Snyder has a ton of experience in many different facets of basketball. He has coached College, D-League, and European basketball and seen success on all levels. Why wouldn't that trend continue in the NBA? I like a guy who has experience under his belt.

Adrian Griffin is young and relatively inexperienced. The best thing you can say about him is he has coached under Thibs. Corbin coached under Sloan though, so it's not like coaching under a great coach makes you a great coach.

Jazz are naturally tight lipped, but w/ us knowing the other 3, could it be they are tight lipped because it is someone fans would clamor for? Could it be Stockton? JVG?

Good thought...... makes sense.

If our hopes get really high for jvg or stockton or hoiber or messina, etc then we will be upset if we get any of the other three
