What's new

I told yall...Hood is a beast and a steal at #23.

Hood and Kawhi have similar games. Hood is coming into the league with a better shot. Kawhi was a better defender entering the league. Hopefully we can craft he and Exum into players. The Spurs draft good players and mold them into GREAT players. We have good players on our hands. It will be fun to watch them grow!

Actually, no they do not have similar games at all.
We don't have to compare people that are not similar at all do we?

Am I missing some point you were trying to make?

I think coming into the draft everyone know Hood could shoot and score off the dribble on jumpers. He has looked very good running the Pick and Roll. Also he has been a ball mover-he gets the ball and makes a good decision right away. The concerns on him are still valid-can he finish at the rim/draw fouls? Will he ever progress from being a poor rebounder and defender?

He is a valuable player but let's make him out to be more than he is.

I've heard and seen nothing but the opposite. Was this really a criticism coming into draft day?

Only negatives i remember of hood pre draft were his poor defense and that he is soft

Really like Hood as a player and person. Seems in interviews to have a lot of self awareness... Talks about his role is to knock down shots when Dante and others set him up. I'm not sure why some posters think hood being a good player means we didn't need to resign Hayward. I think Hayward will be one of the few guys we have that can set Hood up. If the ball moves as well as it should everyone gets better looks and percentages rise across the board.

I really liked Hood's jab step. Very effective at clearing space and he has the speed to drive so it keeps it a real threat. Couple that with his size and shooting ability and he will be a pain to guard.

LOL .. yeah OK give you that one. Hayward was pretty bad last year, he has turned it around.

No he wasn't. Intact a case could be made that if his shot wasn't off he may have been a top 5-10 player. He was still a a 16/5/5 player. It's ok though, your not the only idiot that was hating on Hayward

Hell I didn't even realize he was a first round talent going into the draft. Lol

C'mon. He was projected on all boards in that same group with George, Babbitt, Patterson, Sanders, etc. Hayward wasn't even on my radar - nor anyone else's really.......except for honz.

I WILL take credit for also stating Aldrich would be a bust. There were a few that wanted him, IIRC.

Hood won't be better than Hayward but Hoods a rookie who hasn't gotten a chance to show anything yet. He will narrow the gap.

Jeez I don't know if he will narrow the gap with Hayward. But shoot, if he did we would be a beast of a team.
