Burks fully committed to the Jazz and getting better

FYI...as a team Utah is almost in the middle of the pack now for 3's at 34.6%. No surprise that GS leads the NBA at 38.9% with Atlanta not far behind. Hayward is just under 38%, but Trey and Dante really bring our average down with the number of 3's they've missed. I know the kind of PG I'd like Dante to become...the 3&D kind!

Well he was around 35% for previous two years. Now on a fairly tiny sample size of 68 attempts this year he got up to 38%. I think 40% would be an incredible leap. Only 17 players are better than 40% this year, is Alec Burks that good of a jump shooter?

We don't know, but why not? He has good form on his jumper, he has excellent work ethic by all accounts, you know his jumpshot is a major priority for off season work with the coaching staff, he'll get better looks in the Snyder offense than ever before. Not only is it possible for an improvement of 2%+, but based on the things I mentioned just there, I'd say it would almost be surprising if it doesn't happen.

Alec can do it... Danny green jumped from 37% into a perennial 40% guy and he doesn't have perfect form. DMC's shot ain't perfect but he's there now. Not saying its likely just not far fetched... I think I'm just quibbling with words.

Even if he increased his attempts by 1 or 2 a game and shot 38% he becomes a pretty great offensive player. It's 1.14 pps. It will also make him more dangerous as a driver as he will be tough to close out on.

Especially from the corners where he shoots 47%

Chauncy billups gave Burks the nickname "corner pimp" because he said Alec was deadly from the corner three. (Chauncy and Alec are boys..... both from Kansas city iirc)

It's pretty far fetched, at least with any volume, as that percentage would put him in the top 20 three point shooters in the league.
He increased his volume between last year and this year and increased his percentage by about 3%. Fwiw

I was actually taking about where they came up (childhood)
I was wrong though...... it was earl watson.
(Both from the kansas city area)
