Owning a sports franchise from one of the big three sports is one one of the best investments you can make long term. The amount these franchises have grown in value (including the Jazz) proves that.

F getting in on the ground floor, I wanna get in at the Penthouse Suite!!

They will probably sell the team, but I can't see them selling it to someone that is going to uproot the team entirely. The Jazz sell out more often then not and their attendance has always been up. A team doesn't move unless its failing to fill seats. This may be something that is very beneficial to the Jazz.

The Millers will not sell until they decide they need a new stadium. They own the ESA. They are making money hand over fist off the Jazz.

IF they decide they need a new arena, and IF Salt Lake/Utah won't help them pay for one, THEN get worried.

Until then, the Jazz ain't going anywhere.

After digesting this for a few days I think this is the case. The Miller's probably aren't selling the team. Worst case scenario, I see this as a mini-revolt by the Miller kids who don't want to end up like dad working 75 hour weeks and dead by 64. Instead they want to turn the business into a more traditionally structured corporate entity.

The 2nd generation millers won't sell the team... Means too much to their legacy as well as their business. How many of you are buying a car from the millers if they sell the team and it gets relocated.

3rd generation is where you have to worry on businesses. They generally came up with incredible wealth and never saw the sacrifice their grandparents made to get there. The third generation is where businesses go to die. That generation may look at the team and cash out... Can't see Greg and this current group screwing up the legacy larrys built.

Steve Starks has been named President of Miller Sports Properties.... I am sure it will be announced shortly in the media.
