Millsap > Boozer

Boozer can get defensive rebounds though

by pushing his teammates out of the way?

by not boxing out, just trying to outjump? (which was effective and payed dividends to him because of the way he tried (tried?, really?) to stop opposing players)

Sure. You're right.

You CANNOT blame just BigAl and Paul for the rebounding problems of the Jazz. Rebounding is a teamwork and everybody should help each other and especially guards should play much more physical. The solution is a better, more focused effort to make good, proper rotations on help defense (sometimes overhelping - a direct resuılt of miscommunication/lack of communication and more importantly, lack of trust) to not be in a tough situation to box out the opponent (whoever he is, a guard, a wing) by anybody.

Sap is easily tougher than Boozer. That would have probably kept Booze out of the lineup for a week.

Thanks. That actually summed up my long winded post.

But the reason why i "created" those stats is to show impact the player has over 82 games. Not just in the games he played. Because I feel players should be recognised for being durable and for keeping themselves durable throughout 82 games. (Best examples would of course be Stockton and Malone)

Of course, some injuries are freak injuries which can't be helped. But overall being durable, as well as the ability to play through pain, is a big part of being a great player. And those stats I showed illustrate that. Being injury prone is far more psychological than physical. And Millsap and Boozer are at opposite ends of the spectrum

Let's revisit this topic in the playoffs. After all, Boozer has NEVER missed a playoff game. You are overrating the regular season. Every team has injuries, except the Thunder.

Been in them? Sure. Showed up?

And maybe if he played during the regular season we would have been more prepared and/or had a better seed. Hard to incorporate a player during the playoffs that hasn't played with your team for 1/2 the season.

It's no use with you people, it's like arguing with a liberal. First off, we didn't even make the playoffs his first two years and weren't a true contender anyway. After that he only missed significant time for one season. And we had other injuries too. Just forget it, next Wednesday you will all be looking like the fools that you are.

The problem is the same problem with lots of arguments on this (and any) forum. It is also what makes it fun. It is mostly about opinions. You are arguing your opinion, I argue mine, etc. There are no "facts" to back up either side because it is primarily conjecture. Team chemistry and personal effort are subjective, they cannot be measured. And stats exist within the context of those other intangibles, so stats cannot be used to argue the whole story. Or we are arguing "what if" scenarios and I like mine more than yours. We can back them up with all kinds of stuff but in the end it is still a "what if". Same with the "future performance" arguments. CJ will be an all-star some day vs. CJ will be out of the league some day.

So really no matter what Boozer does we won't look like fools because you cannot PROVE that he would have had the same, or any, impact on this team. The context is different. It is conjecture.

Isn't it great!

Boozer offensively is one of the best bigmen in the game.

Defensively he's worthless.

But what does it matter when he can't stay healthy?
