Mad Max Fury Road

I love cheap thrills and great action flicks as much as the next meathead. So when I saw how much hype and great reviews Mad Max got, I couldn't wait to go see it. Let me just say this was the worst letdown of my life. Even worse then when I took the biggest/easiest slut in my grade to prom instead of one of my good girlfriends for the sole fact I thought it'd be an easy way to get laid, then she ended up just getting too drunk and puking and passing out before the party even ended and everyone went to hookup.

This movie is trash. It has no plot, not much suspense, no character development and the action scenes are visually cool but not that exciting.

If movies were NBA coaches, this movie would be Ty Corbin

Nah bro it was a great movie for its genre, it never pretended to be a "Beautiful Mind" or anyone of those 'Miramax' type movie. Once you can get past that fact I think it would be easier for you to just sit back and enjoy the ride.

It wasn't trash, but I agree in that it was a disappointment. They overdid the driving scenes instead of working more on the story like they should have. It really had so much more potential than the final product.

It was the best action movie I have ever seen hands down. Probably a top 10 overall movie ever.

It has more plot and character development than you are giving it credit for. It all isn't just explicitly told to you through direct wording. There is a lot of symbolism in the movie if you have a brain.

lol. Overdid the driving scenes in a Mad Max movie? That's like saying there is too manyboobs in a porno.

Mad max was awesome. That being said, I am a person who has willingly attended two gwar concerts, so I felt pretty much at home.

My theory is that Oderus urungus wrote the screenplay and was trying to make a big hit like fast and furrrious, but didn't realize he was on crack pretty much the entire time.

It was awesome. And if you don't know who Oderus urungus is, do yourself a huge favor and watch some gwar music videos. You will probably not thank me later, and will most def be scarred for a little while.

I personally hate action movies (for several reasons: predictability, unrealistic action, etc) but I thought Mad Max was one of the better, if not, best action movie I've seen. Not only was it basically non-stop action (what an action movie should be) but it also didn't have a stupid b-story/love story...it was full throttle action movie that never really let up. It also did a great job creating this beautiful fictional world that really made you feel like you were a part of it (similarly to what Avatar did).

There's a reason why its the highest rated action movie of all time. It definitely deserves it.

Yeah, I probably should have watched it baked out of my mind like you, and I probably would have liked it better. Hell, why even have a story at all? Maybe the next one will just be a 2 hour driving scene from start to finish.

Haven't seen it, but all I hear is that it's unique in that it's a feministy action movie (to the point that there are male rights activists protesting it or some ****? lol)

It was ok, but overall disappointing because how good the previews made it look and how good the old Mad Max movies were.

There wasn't much of a story. The story wasn't even really about Mad Max, which was the big disappointment for me. It was more about the girl. Max was just a sideshow pretty much.

The visuals were pretty cool, but that was about it. I did get a kick out of the traveling band. That was pretty funny.

The swaying poles? What's that about? I feel like I'm going to hate the movie because the poles aren't tactically beneficial. If the poles are a gimmick, I'm out. If they're not. I'll catch this **** on HBO or SHOWTIME.

but I want to be clear. I've only been to the movie theatre to see about five movies in the last ten years. Two of those times I slept the entire time.

In the movie the poles are actually used to gain a tactical advantage

But that's exactly what I did. I went in thinking I just want to be entertained. I got a ton of action, but most of it was pointless and not that I'm some bloodthirsty psycho - but I'd have liked to seen some creative kills (the movie was rated R).

To the person who said this movie had symbolism and everything wasn't spelled out to the viewer (Maybe it is one of those artsy Miramax films that flew over my head?), what was the point/symbolism of them spray painting their lips? Why were they talking about Valhalla if the setting was post-apocalyptic? I don't need to nitpick the plot giving away spoilers but I do wanna know why that platform at the home base is CLEARLY shown to be mechanically operated with a lever but then is portrayed to be operated manually by a bunch of little boys running on those hamster wheel type steps?

To the person who said people had problems with this being a feminist movie - I have to laugh because if it weren't for the old women the movie would have been a true POS.

What a lazy thing to reply with. I am not the only one who felt extremely let down by the movie given the hype.

I didn't mean to offend people who really loved the movie. I need to be clear on the fact that I'm bashing the movie doesn't mean I'm bashing the people who liked it.
