In the op you made it sound like your thoughts on the movie are facts, rather than opinions.
I was simply pointing out that the overwhelming majority of people who saw the movie disagree

First and foremost, movie was awesome. I feel like I need to watch it again because the action was so fast and so awesome I feel like I missed quite a bit of the symbolism mentioned earlier. There were also a lot of references to the original movies like when the one breeder was playing the little music box from Road Warrior.

So putting a hook in a guy's mouth attached to a chain and then the chain getting twisted up around the car's axle and completely ripping off his jaw wasn't a creative and awesome kill?

To me it was more about desperate people needing something to believe in and a maniacal leader creating a religion based on bits and pieces of past religions that he had heard of. Silver spray paint, is it any worse that painting your face with cow dung while you stalk pray? Painting your face with ash when going to war? Painting your face when attending a sporting event? The silver spray paint was no different than any of these other examples. They thought Immortan Joe was a god. He could of told them to drink pee and they would have done it (CP3 does this already).

Agreed. Get over it. There were several strong women in this movie and they were awesome.

Just to add, the director wanted very little CGI used in this movie and most of the stunts were real and not shot against a green screen. For the pole scene they actually brought in Cirque de Soleil performers to teach the stunt men how to use the poles. When watching the film knowing that what you just saw really happened made it all the more awesome.

Great post, and very reasonable. Art is subjective. You're right about the leader's death - that was a great kill. I saw it 3D. Maybe I'll see it again on regular, and perhaps I'll have a different reaction.
 
Oh, and for those saying this has nothing to do with the first three movies, Fury Road was written and directed by the same person, George Miller.

I hate watching movies in 3D. Just doesnt feel natural to me like the screen becomes smaller and the colour is off somehow. I didn't even know this was shown in 3D actually. Would have been an interesting comparison.

Sometimes it depends on the theater or even the glasses. I've seen a few really good 3d movies in the last few years, but the theater I go to most of the time now has ****ty glasses that make it not worth the extra money. I suggest trying different theaters until you find a good one, and if you see one you like, keep the glasses instead of recycling.

The only decent 3D experience I have had was with an Imax screen. It just looks too small on a normal screen to me.

My theory is that Oderus urungus wrote the screenplay and was trying to make a big hit like fast and furrrious, but didn't realize he was on crack pretty much the entire time.

It was awesome. And if you don't know who Oderus urungus is, do yourself a huge favor and watch some gwar music videos. You will probably not thank me later, and will most def be scarred for a little while.

Alas, Dave Brockie is dead.

When I was watching the film I was thinking that there was a great missed opportunity for a Gwar commentary track where Gwar spends the whole film rooting against Max and Furiosa and talking about how awesome the villains are. They have a villain who sleeps in a hammock made of guitars after all.
 
I did not realize that the actor who played the villain in the original Mad Max

I hadn't seen it when this thread was made, but I've seen it twice now and think rather highly of it.

To those who said it needed more "story": I think that's a vague critique. Omission is a fundamentally intricate aspect of film and Fury Road uses it (of character background, the world, the religious propaganda, politics, inner thought, etc.) in a way that makes it function allegorically, which is something I'm not sure I've seen a fast paced action movie ever do before.
