Still going to say Booker. I think he goes before he is currently mocked because teams are going to realize they really need an elite shooter.

Off to an early start today. Thanks Cy.

Charlotte is a mess. After making the playoffs in 2014 they thought they would be soaring higher after adding lance Stephenson. Instead they won just enough games to get a mid lottery pick again. They tried to follow the utah model of rebuilding -- play Alfense while your young bigs acquired by high lottery picks watch from the bench, in hopes that you can squeak into the first round of the playoffs. Now they are in the "think of the cap flexibility after Al is Gone" stage of the utah model.

They have a bunch of questions :

Big al has a player option for 13 million, Gerald Henderson has a 6 million player option. Big al said he won't opt out...https://probasketballtalk.nbcsports...ikely-to-opt-out-of-his-contract-this-summer/

Bismarck biyombo is a RFA.

Lance Stephenson (9 mill) and Marvelous Marvin Williams ( 7 mill) are in the last year of their contracts.

In fact Only Kemba Walker is locked up beyond next next season.

They have Cody Zeller, Noah Vonleh, PJ Hairiston and MKG on rookie contracts.

Fun facts: Mike Kidd Gilcrest did not attempt a single 3pt shot last season. Not one. There were 67 players in the NBA who did not shoot a 3 last season, only 10 played more minutes than MKG, and all of the top 20, except for MKG were pf or centers.

Booker has been pronounced the shooter of the draft. Does Charlotte draft for need? Or do they draft bpa and use their other assets to trade or sign help ?

If they are committed to Zeller, Hairston and Vonleh then they gotta go wing or small, but the best players on the board are bigs.

If I am them I try like heck to trade this pick and get Booker later. I like Booker, but I don't think he is bpa at this point and might not be for 3-5 more picks.

What a mess.

It's Michael Jordan's mess though.

If MJ is involved, who knows what they will do. If they keep the pick, they desperately need shooting so the smart pick would be Booker; however, when has Charlotte ever been accused of being smart. WCS and Frank could also be a possibility.

Ummm... Stephenson signed a 3 year/27 million dollar deal last year. He has 2 years left (unless there is a team/player option) and is going to get 9 million.

Williams signed a 2 year/14 million, so I doubt his contract went from 5 million to 9 million. Probably more like 7 or 8.

If it was MJ, I would say Kaminksy because he likes drafting big college stars. He isn't drafting anymore though.

A lot of people on this board thought Vonleh was a good pick.

Good lord. I voted for wcs because I had a brain fart and I thought I was picking for the zombie Hornets that Anthony Davis plays for. Idiot. they pick booker to replace Stephenson.

Last year is a player or team option... Can't remember.

They take WCS if they are smart... He's like two draft tiers ahead of Booker. They could swap with phx, OKC, Indiana, and pick up assets and still get the guy they want.

My bad, I put Als number in for Stephenson and stephonsons in for Marvin. Al 13,Stephonsons 9, Marvin 7. I will fix the original.

Yes, the third year is a team option for 9.4.

Just can't see Bobcats going big again, especially another unskilled big. WCS/Vonleh/Zeller is a pretty big and athletic 3 man rotation once Al leaves.

WCS balances the offense of Big Al

And throws their offense even into further chaos because of the complete lack of spacing.

Out of guys who actually played minutes, no one even approached 35% 3pt shooting.

They are trying to develop Zeller and Vonleh (though trying is a loose word in this case).

I think they take Oubre before WCS. I thought this poll was going to be Oubre hands down.
