2011 draft.....

I think the problem that Dwill_PwnasaurasRex was referring to was the way the interviewer phrased the question, suggests that Jan doesn't have a firm grip on what type of player he is. Dwill_PwnasaurasRex correct me if I'm wrong.

Lol @ people saying we should pass on Dwill3 if he drops.

A week ago people are praying he falls to us, and now some of you are saying "meh I'll pass".

The thought of drafting Williams tears me up for a number of reasons. One of them being that if he's there at #3, you HAVE to draft him. You just have to. If you're not in love with him, then at worst, you find someone who is.

This is what alot of Jazz fans are missing when they compare Millsap and Williams. Derrick Williams is not this undersized PF who mirrors everything Millsap does. Not only is he younger, more explosive and a better finisher around the rim, but he has a bigger wingspan and standing reach than Blake Griffin, Kevin Love, Tyler Hansbrough, Al Horford, Udonis Haslem, Drew Gooden, Troy Murphy David Lee, and Josh Smith.
So let's say his transition to SF takes longer than expected or he just doesn't make it as an NBA-SF - fine, he still has the potential to be an above-average NBA PF and that makes him a pretty safe pick IMO.

Some new game footage of Enes Kanter is circulating from his prep school days. I'm watching one game now. It's fairly underwhelming stuff.

I don't know if he's just tired here or what but he looks really lethargic playing vs very weak competition. Getting destroyed on defense.

From DX Twitter feeed

I don't think he can play 3, at least not full time. People keep comparing him to Pierce, but Pierce has a calm/cool handle. Like he is always in control. Williams looks kind of spastic when he dribbles.

Locke was pretty far off on this one

Said cy's alt.

Cy loves to pat himself on the back all the time. Carbon also loves to pat cy on the back all the time.

Coincidence? I think not

Not based on that comment! Haha But yeah ive heard hes pretty knowledgeable.

KOC has everyone guessing--

Jonathan Givony: The draft starts at #3 with Utah. No one has any clue what they're doing. You can ask 100 NBA people. 60 will say Knight, and 40 say Kanter.

And he has lots of options--

Jonathan Givony:Also being discussed for Utah: Trading #3 to Washington for #6+18. Then take whoever's left between Walker or Knight at 6. Kanter would go 3

I wish that trade would have happened.

In the trade with OKC for Kanter, why didn't the Jazz get OKC's 1st rounder (lottery pick) this year? Trading Kanter for the #14 plus Tibor and that stretch 4 would have been a much more palatable deal.

I wish that trade would have happened.

2011 was a pretty deep draft. At #6, they could have taken Knight, Thompson, or Walker, but more importantly at #18, they could have taken:
Tobias Harris, Donatas Motiejūnas, Kenneth Faried, Nikola Mirotić, or Reggie Jackson.

Sadly the Wizards whiffed on both picks: Vesely and Singleton.

Holy **** that is bad.
Next time someone bitches about the jazz drafts, bring this up please

Then can we bring up Kahwi Leonard at 15?
No. Lots of teams passed on him

Only one drafted vessley and singleton

Makes sense (sarcasm).
Lol (sarcasm)

I think missing on one player that lots of teams missed on is a much smaller **** up than missing on that same player AND drafting two horrible players in the lottery.

I dont like all this talk of taking a huge risk on a stretch 4 in this draft. There isnt an Olynik or LMA we can get. We have a stretch 4 shot blocking guru who shot 40% behind the arc last year. Use him. We need a wing or pg.

A lot of teams would have drafted those players if Wizards hadn't
Ya maybe. And maybe even at the same spots.

But alas, it was the wizards and i will continue to lol at them for and use their enormous failure in that draft to make me feel better about the jazz missing on kahwi and drafting trey and what not.

Why are you even having this discussion with me though? Does upset you that I'm criticizing the wizards franchise?
Are your normally defensive about the decisions that the wizards gm makes?
