Imagine if the guys that we have are all healthy and also living up to what was expected of them.

And now, you put this lineup out there- Deron, Bell, Miles, Okur, Al Jeff

Just imagine the spacing Big Al would get to do his thing. Who would you leave to double team him? This is the most ideal scenario that the Jazz could have hoped for. Never happened. They made a slight overrating of Bell and Miles and probably underestimated Okur's recovery period. Not that they would have traded him easily otherwise. This is the Jazz we are talking about. And Deron has some wrist injury or other every year that hampers his 3-pt shooting

Well, Miles, Bell and Okur were supposed to be those 3 players for us. It is more of personnel not living up to it than anything to do with Sloan.
2 years back, we had Korver and Okur shooting well from the 3-pt land and Deron was'nt so bad either. Those were your three players who could space up the floor a bit. Not quite Orlando Magic-esque but not too bad. I think some of the moves made since then have resulted in players who are either past their prime(Bell, although he seems to be getting it back) or are just not up to it(Miles) or are injured(Memo)

Your argument is usually putting all fault on FO and ownership (and subsequently players), but now you're seemingly defending it as it's a proxy to defending Sloan. Which makes sense, because my point is that Sloan is basically the front-office executive. He has more veto power than probably any coach in this league. And the roster has not been adequately stocked with shooters basically since the finals years. I think on that point, almost all of us can agree. Whose fault that is is hard to say, but I don't think someone with as much power as Sloan has with this franchise is free from blame.

I dont think Sloan has any more powers than most other good coaches in this league. I mean some of them were/are GM-coaches. They openly demanded for certain kind of players to fit their system. Think Larry Brown? I dont think Sloan has that kind of power.Of course as a HOF coach he gets consulted and the draft day decisions are joint decisions. But just because he demanded for Deron and won once, it doesnt not mean the Jazz wait to see what he demands next before making their move. If anything, Al Jefferson was more of a Deron's request than anybody else's. So I have never agreed to Sloan having "the most power in the league".

I also debunk the theory that Sloan is against shooters. I see no evidence for that. The FO has just done a poor job of drafting/trading for/retaining shooters since Horny left.
Like I said earlier, if the Jazz had retained Korver/Wes and if Okur had not been injured we wouldnt even been having this conversation right now.
Just because this team is struggling from the 3-pt shooting department this year due to combo of several factors, I dont think Sloan is to be automatically blamed for this. How come last year when we had both Memo, Korver AND Wes on the team, this topic did not come about? I didnt hear anybody complain about Sloan being against shooters back then.
The only thing Sloan is against is one-dimensional shooters who put themselves above the system, like Girisuck.

No, I am not defending it. In fact if you noticed I still place the blame more on the FO and less on Sloan. It was not Sloan's decision to let go of Mathews or Korver for $$$ reasons, was it? Or are you going to argue that Sloan makes financial decisions for Miller too?

And if there still any doubt of Sloan being dead-set against shooters all I would ask you is to watch CJ Miles night in and night out, when he jacks up shots without a conscience, despite shooting just 40%, and how patient Sloan has been with him

Who lets D'Will play when he is not pushing the ball, when we have a back-up point guard who will? Everyone with eyes know the Jazz play best when pushing the ball. Who has not given Fess the minutes needed to develop, when we know the only way the Jazz can compete with the Lakers is to go big with them? Who's game plan is it to double team big men inside even when they are average or below average players, and lets teams shoot us out of games from 3 point land? Who has a history of not calling a time out when other teams are on a run ninety percent of the time? Who is poor with in game adjustments? Who takes out players that are playing great, sits them on the bench and forgets about them the remainer of the game? Please retire Sloan enough is enough.

I dotn have Sloan hate. On the contrary, I have always loved Sloan. One of the best coaches out there. That said, everyones time comes to pass.

Hornacek, Giricek and Korver were all designated shooters that we traded for. I dont believe that for a moment.

That indicates the problem right there: "designated shooters". I agree that is what they were and that seems to be what Sloan and the jazz are satisfied with, one designated shooter. Contrast with say the Spurs with there are about 6 guys that could fill that role. And when you have a "designated shooter", don't you think it is obvious the other team knows who that is? So, the Jazz, once they have their "designated shooter" don't worry about getting more. Hence they carry guys like AK and Brewer and Price who are very sub-par to terrible as NBA wings in their shooting ability.
