What's new

any centers better than Gobert right now?

I know he's not very popular around here, but Cousins is probably the best C in the NBA today...

Davis is a PF in my eyes at least

What stops Cousins from being the best C is himself. He will always limit himself.

I think marc gasol is better all around right now...... But not for long.

I would trade gobert for AD...... And then be really ****ing scared that I would end up regretting it

not sure who is better than Gobert right now??

A.Davis: maybe....more of a PF than C in my opinion

DJ: a center who has better FG% than FT%..hm...no

Marc Gasol: a white stiff who can't jump and slow feet..hm...no

Pau Gasol: an euro who has passed his prime.. hm.. no

Joahim: a center who has more rebounds than points..hm... no

Drummond: a center who has more rebounds than points..

Duncan: too old, Gobert will block every shot he takes

DeAndre Jordan: Overall Better than Rudy

Marc Gasol: Overall Better than Rudy

Dwight Howard: Overall Better than Rudy

Al Horford: Overall Better than Rudy

I think Rudy could be a top 3 Center someday but the fact is, he is entering into his 3rd season (2nd year of playing consistently). It will take some time for him to become more consistent on the offensive side.

This is not a "hater" post. I'm just trying to not be bias because I'm a Jazz fan.

So would you trade him for any one of them?

I remember watching sportscenter and they showed the team defensive #'s with and without Bogut. It's like a 5-6 point swing. He is very valuable not sure GS has the interior defensive fire power to deal with LBJ and Cle's bigs without Bogut. In my eyes he's one of the better defensive bigs in the league and he has a lot to do with GS HAVING THE #1 defense in the league last year.
Even at 5-6 pts., that's not a big deal given GS' offense. I doubt GS would lose 4 games by less than 5 against CLE. I do admit Bogut did a helluva job holding and setting illegal screens on AD. It was disgusting the refs let so much go. But GS would have won that series regardless. The only hope one has against GS is that 2 of Curry, Thompson and Green have terrible nights.

I'm not saying Bogut doesn't make that team better; he does. He's just not essential to their overall success.

I disagree with you because to win a championship you need to be firing on all cylinders for the most part. Winning championships is hard. I think he is essential to thier success.

Though i would say that curry, green, and thompson are definately more essential.

Straight up, I'd rank Davis ahead of Gobert...for now.

But you are right, Gobert has the attitude and fire that makes EVERYONE around him better. Look at the way Favors has come around and is blocking shots. Hayward plays with intensity; Exum is playing tough defense. Why? Because they know if they don't, Rudy is going to get on them. Really not sure if Gobert or Snyder is the best thing that's happened to this franchise in the past two years. I just know those two are the KEYS to our success going forward.

What do you mean 'for now'?

You think Rudy will be better?

Look, I love Rudy. He's a great defensive player. He is not, nor will he ever be as good as Anthony Davis.

Davis is 22 years old, and he's averaging 24/10/2/3. What makes you think he's not going to improve?

I get that Rudy is our guy and everything, but let's be a little objective. He's still a limited offensive player, and he's definitely not the best center in the league right now.

Pretty good post.
Davis might be one of the best players of all time when is said and done

Gobert is probably top 10, which is amazing for a player who was tripping over his feet and could have been blown over with a feather two years ago.

Gobert is probably top 10, .

I'd say he's easily top 5. His defensive presence impacts the game to a degree that I'm not sure I'd trade him for some of the guys who are better because they're 2 way players. I'd rather keep Rudy and get our offense elsewhere.

5-6 points is huge. GS gives up over 100 points per 48 without and under 100 with him. Without Bogut for an extended amount of time the GS defense would wear down and their perimeter defense would look closer to average. LBJ would destroy there defense without Bogut. How the hell is 5-6 points in your eyes not a big swing?
