Lol NAACP leader of Spokane is Caucasian

Like you, I see no difference between a person identifying with a different race and a person identifying with a different gender. If we are supposed to call the man identifying as a woman "her" then we should also call the white person identifying as black "african-american" or whatever they would like to identify their race. I really wish someone who disagrees with this stance would provide a reasonable argument why this is not the case.

I really dont know. What I will say is that your gender is something different than your sex. Most people are born one sex dictated by the body part you are born with. Everyone's gender can be different and fluid. I would say with Race you are born with a race and it is set. You can not change what race you are. Now there are surgeries that can change your sex and I guess there are surgeries/procedures that can change your race. I think what culture you identify is different than saying what race you are. Kind of like gender culture is different for everyone. People of different races can identify with in a culture. I think culture is fluid and there is a "black" culture that varies but that a white person could identify with or feel apart of.

And Butchy continues being a troll. Not surprising.

I will say that his threads are always started as trolls but they usually end up being decent discussions.

I am curious what his next troll account will be or which one will be more active when he stops posting with this one.

Also I am pretty sure some sad lonely person has like 30 accounts on here they upkeep and troll with all of them. A few of them might not seem like troll accounts.

This argument simply lacks intellectual sophistication. Equating both examples as the same is quite simply laziness. See my response to Hantlers below.

Where are all the people who were telling me that you couldnt be transracial? Dala, JEJ, and somebody else...what are your thoughts on this? Is she crazy, mental problems, or can people be transrace now?

It's a much more complicated, nuanced issue than you're making it.

First of all, there is a long history of white people appropriating essentially every non-white culture in America, to the point where things like a 'mohawk' have lost all cultural significance in the realm of american popular culture, due to said appropriation.

There is a very long-standing history of whites appropriating black culture in America. It's an incredibly sensitive phenomenon, as it's been happening for centuries & it's still ongoing. Having a white woman disguise her caucasian roots, and work in a leadership role in a black community organization is incredibly sketchy, in the backdrop of America's appropriating culture. That's why there's a big controversy surrounding this-- and that's why it isn't really comparable to Caitlyn Jenner. The female gender doesn't have the history of appropriation that black culture does.

Since race is a social construction, it's technically possible for you to identify yourself with any racial/cultural phenomenon. However, the majority of those who try to identify as another race do so while adopting terms that are at odds with the true tenets of the racial group they are trying to adopt. Due to the probability of this phenomenon, along with the longstanding history of appropriation, it's considered in bad-taste for a white person to call themselves black in America.

Example of race being fluid: there are many examples of white people growing up in Indigenous reserves, and being fully considered "indigenous" despite their biological makeup.

So, she is black but distasteful? She is distasteful because many white kids like hip-hop?

Caitlyn Jenner is a woman and tasteful. Her decision has taste because men don't generally listen to Celine Dione?

yup. Cuz that's what it means to be black, and a woman.

Are you black or a woman? Then how would you know?

But my stance is yes she can classify as black. Doesn't mean that other blacks, or non blacks for that matter, have to accept her as black though. Personally I don't care. She wants to be black? cool with me.

So then do women, or non-women have to accept Jenner as a woman? Because I could be wrong, and please correct me, but I believe your argument was that we should be happy for Jenner and accept his decision. It's been a while so I could be wrong.

It is kind of fun watching the liberals try to figure out which minority they need to side with this time to appear the most emotional and caring.

Guys, we need to have cultural assimilation but we need to discourage white people from taking things from other cultures that they like.

Funny how this works if you just switch a few words.

Does it? Copy and paste do not an argument make.

"in the backdrop of America's appropriating culture."

You remember when the "melting pot" was a GOOD idea? What the hell good is multiculturalism if you can't appropriate the best parts of everyone's culture? Even Marxism is down with this. "I'm sorry, Miss, you can't eat that falafel without wearing this burkha, because you are unfairly appropriating our culture." SMH

So hip-hop isn't a symbol of black culture? One that has been appropriated by whites? Maybe you should give me a better example of what you are talking about.

Definitely didn't say it wasn't.

If Bruce Jenner can be a woman, why cant this lady be black?

Already been explained.

Are you black or a woman? Then how would you know?

Going off of the testimonies of both black people and females, and repeating their beliefs. Not difficult.

Again, my post in the previous page goes over why something like this is insensitive. "

speaking in extremes again, of course-- without taking a single second to appreciate the tragedies of appropriation across tens of cultures across North America. (there is a difference between enjoying falafel, and appropriating). (also, not a Marxist).

Not only that-- it simply doesn't work. Lotta close-minded folks up in here.
