to see the Jazz draft another rookie who won't play much and will really have little impact on the game for his first couple of years unless we get lucky.

I just have a hard time getting worked up over a 12th pick, especially in a not very deep draft.

I hope we do something with the pick instead of wasting it by picking another rookie.

To be honest I'm really just excited for the rest of the draft. I think its shaping up to be a very exciting day. As far as the jazz goes I do agree though, I mean I always look forward to a new player to root for, but all I really care about is holding on to the players we've already got.

More like Ronnie Realist.

Dude, this draft is pretty deep to about the 20th pick. The 10th - 20th pick in this draft is way stronger than in most drafts.

David Locke didn’t go into which current assets such as the picks (12, 42, 54) or current players could be moved, but we are reminded of the rumors surrounding a potential move that would have involved power forward Derrick Favors just prior to last year’s draft. The team may have vehemently denied them last summer, but those dots aren’t exactly difficult to connect if the murmurings about Millsap ultimately come to fruition.

General manager Dennis Lindsey mentioned the team’s willingness to spend the bulk of their available cap space this summer if the right opportunity were to present itself, but did not specify which direction the team might be looking. With rumors about a potential mutual interest between the team and soon-to-be free agent Paul Millsap beginning to circulate, we now have a source confirming the organization not only intends to move up in tomorrow’s draft, but could be willing to package assets and players to do so if necessary. “They have enough depth and have assets on the roster,” said David Locke, the radio voice of the Utah Jazz. “I am certain they are trying to couple those assets, picks and players to move up.”

Both via Basketball Insiders and are on Hoopshype.

Feel better?

Plenty of intrigue for me. Going back over the last few years and seeing what we have done with picks 12 or lower is worth being interested in what happens. Rodney Hood, Rudy Gobert, Alec Burks, packaging picks to move up for Trey, even the drafting of Neto and Jeremy Evans were all good stories and have given us a chance to be better. They don't all pan out but some do which is part of the excitement. Plenty of history in Jazzland of lower picks even in the 2nd round turning out.

Sure...we should have traded the picks that became Paul Millsap, Deron, Gobert, Hayward, Hood, Burke, Exum, etc. Should never have brought Wesley Matthews to camp. Rookies CAN and DO contribute! The main difference now is the Jazz have 5 projected starters AND a lottery pick. Whoever they pick can still get minutes but he'll have to earn them. I think that's a GREAT position to be in.

We probably won't picking anyone that will get big minutes this year.. but I am still, legitimately, excited.

I'm becoming pretty certain Kaminsky is the correct choice. If he's on the board and the Jazz do not draft him I will be pretty disappointed. If we pick him it's like swapping Enes Kanter out for the player we wanted him to be, someone who could stretch the floor. Favors/Gobert/Kaminsky

I agree
I feel like getting Frank is sort of like getting a young memo.
And I loved memo

Depends.

I would be overjoyed with Cauley-Stein, Johnson, or Booker

I'd make myself get excited about anyone else.

Exactly. The fact that Gobert, Exum, Burke and Hood have all logged major minutes in their first two years AND three of them are possible starters shouldn't be considered.

I get where you're coming from, but the Jazz have one of the best scouting departments in the business, and possibly the best player developmental coaching staff in the league. Combine those two things and we should feel lucky to be pulling a lottery pick out of what has turned into a deeper than expected draft. This team, as it sits right now, is a playoff caliber team with five young starters at every position. No rookie is the savior of this team. All they need is a solid backup and rotational player. Get one from the draft and one from free agency, and they're in business!

Chad Ford: 'Frank the Tank's on fire'

"Frank Kaminsky was a 13, now up to 9, could go all the way up to 6. Could go all the way up -- believe it or not, Knicks fans -- to 4. ... Probably the hottest name right now."

From ESPN somewhere

2. Frank the Tank is on fire. Phil Jackson loves him. So does Vlade Divac. Michael Jordan won't pass on him at 9. 4-9 his new range.
