Summer League Roster rumors/confirmations?

Arturas Guiditas whom DX had at the top of the 2nd rd, will play for the Seventy-Centers in SL.

They were really piling on him during the draft on ESPN. Saying he is one-dimensional and he is not going to be able to get his put back dunks and stuff in the NBA. Didn't really make sense. He looks plenty agile on his film and he seems way more aggressive than your average NBA player. He's going to push dudes around.

Yep

Uh huh.

I think things will change now that snyder is the coach

Summer league is also about finding guys who might be able to contribute later if there are roster spots because of injuries or trades. Cooley has been in a few summer camps, I believe. Yes, Utah definitely needs to give their main guys time, but the major development will be in training camp, not a handful of SL games with mostly scrubs.

Screw those guys.

Exum, hood, cotton, lyles, and trey should never come out the game in sl

Maybe play the scrubs in Vegas but the fans in slc don't wanna see the scrubs

This. It's one thing when we had Deron, etc. It's another when we knew we were tanking and we needed bodies to get us through the year.

If our goal is to make the playoffs (and it should be. If it wasn't, we should have tanked more to end the year), then we need to put Exum in as many situations to succeed as possible. Build that kid up. Surround him with his teammates (Hood, Lyle, Burke, etc) and push him. I want him taking 10-15 shots and playing a lot.

He needs to be pushed. Last year was his RS year. He was allowed to stand around and acclimate. Not anymore.

We need SL for Exum to take a step forward. Screw the scrubs.

He signed as a backup plan. His contract has an out before July 31st if he can get a NBA team to bite based on his summer league performance. Most likely he'll be in Europe though.

Utah has drafted guards that they will be putting through the ropes. Haws would be better off playing SL for another team. Same could probably said for Bachynski. They should be shooting for a team like the Pellies for SL. The Jazz should be a last resort for both of them.

Can Burks play in the summer league?
Maybe he wants to get in shape.
He has not played for a while.

I don't remember where I heard it but I heard something similar - that Alec is going to be working with our Summer League squad. I am not sure that means he will actually play. I think Favors was working with them last year too and he didn't play.

Yep. ANYONE can play in summer league. Historically, it's only been first and second-year players, though. I think it's pretty impressive Alec wants to play, but I doubt we see him in any games. He'll likely practice, but I'd be very surprised if he gets any significant game-time action.

Haven't been told if Tibor Pleiss will play with the Jazz in summer league, but he's here so they might as well put him to work

I'm sure many of us remember 25 y/o Patrick Beverley rudely introducing Trey to the SL.

Stat line from that game:

Trey Burke, 11 points, 2 assists, 2 rebounds, 4 turnovers, on 33% from the field.

Patrick Beverley, 11 points, 3 assists, 4 rebounds, 2 turnovers on 50% from the field.

I don't think Burks is even ready for full contact.

He is probably just practicing with the team.

Pleiss seems like a somewhat pedestrian Mozgov. Just not that athletic. But it will be interesting to see.

Mozgov has improved a lot since he came over to the NBA. I remember a few years back when the Russians finished third in the Euro Cup, or was it the Olympics, forget which, he had no offensive game at all.
