I'm not so sure. I want to see what a dialed in, injury free Burks can do under Snyder. Look at how almost everyone else blossomed under Snyder. Is it crazy to think that a finally healthy Burks will blossom as well?

If you care about championships, then you care about each successive year. Look at OKC, everyone assumed that they would have a huge championship window. What are they thinking now?

The very second that you aren't concerned about high draft picks, then you've got to be concerned about getting as deep into the playoffs as possible. Carroll, Green, etc would have absolutely helped in that regard, while also opening up the floor and thus aiding Exum, Favors, and Gobert's development, in particular. And, even at these inflated prices, they don't necessary inhibit our ability to keep our core together.

We didn't get these guys. I can live with that. What I'm having a hard time with is (a) this ridiculous chest-thumping that we don't need those players, (b) the idea that signing these players would strap us financially, and (c) the resistance to the idea that this was an excellent opportunity to add talent to the team.

I really think that 4 players are going to just explode on the Jazz. Gobert, Exum, Hood and Burks. I'm not opposed to a Harris signing. I just think Burks is going to be great as well.

Depends on how you break down the Kanter trade. If you accept that we traded Kanter for Pleiss and a 1st, then the 2nd round pick we got was for Novak, which means DL acquired 2 2nds for a half year of Novak. People can dispute that if they want, but I never believed Novak would play when he was traded to Utah. Situational players like sharp shooters who are too much of a defensive liability to get any real playing time still have value at the deadline for teams looking to make a playoff push.

It's not an either or for me with Burks or Harris... I want both. I think Burks is gonna have a great year and is signed very inexpensively. If he puts up numbers his trade value goes waaaay up.

If Harris wants to come we would have to bring him off the bench as a super sub... he would play a little less than 30 minutes per game and it would prolong his career. He'd be an important contributor on a winner and play with unselfish guys and the best rim protection in the NBA. If he isn't interested in that then go sign with the Knicks or Lakers and enjoy putting up stats on ****ty teams.

With Monroe signing in Milwaukee and LA and NY getting the shaft... I think winning this year is even more important to our FA attempts next year and in the future. Guys are starting to care more and more about winning imo.

Yet so many people would rather have Burks than Harris. Makes no sense.

Just because Masai won does not mean DL lost. 2 2nd rounders for a few months of Novak sounds like a winner to me. Win win

Harris vs. Burks is partly positional for me. Harris is versatile forward, but the wing position in the NBA is at a premium right now. Burks jumper improving last year was big for me... if you add in his finishing from the previous year and that he spent half the year studying basketball and I think he could be a great player at a position that has a talent discrepancy.

I think Harris is more replaceable than Burks, but agree that Harris is further along in his development.
