What's new

***Official Summer League Thread***

He forced McGary into what should have been a travel.

IDK bout horrible, but he does seem a bit slow. He is playing against a legit NBA player though.

A lot of the problems I see are off the ball, he doesn't rotate or is slow when he does. He also looks kind of weak in the post.

Why? What could have DL done? Charlotte reportedly refused an offer of 6 draft picks for no. 9.

U misunderstand me. Just saying I really want to see what Lyles can do. Lyles is who I wanted the Jazz to draft. Just a joke about DL holding off on signing Lyles to his rookie deal.

Not sure what that has to do with Lyles being signed to a contract before SL starts.

Yep, misuderstood what you meant. I thought you'd hold DL responsible for Lyles not performing to the level of Kaminsky. Apologies.

Fell asleep to Detroit's SL game replay last night. Stanley Johnson's handle is much much better than I ever saw in the games I was watching him in college. It was like Chris Paul/Kyrie Irving tight. He's going to be good. I kind of had him on the bust line, but not after seeing that. He's going to better outside of the Arizona system. I was kind of wondering why they took him ahead of Winslow, but I think that was the right call.

Yeah, he looked better than I thought.

People just bought too many shares of Winslow hype. It's that simple. If you had him in the top-5 you were bamboozled.

I had Stanley over him, and Porz and Hezonja in the top 5 just a few months ago and people gave me **** for that on multiple boards. LOL

Due to his handle, athleticism and build Justise was on the radar very early. I always questioned how he could have made such improvements in one year at Duke, after following his story for years.. Considering he's 6'4½" without shoes and thrived playing PF in college, Justise dropping below 'perceived value' seemed like one of the easier 'falls' to call in this draft..

Stanley Johnson looks very impressive. All his troubles finishing around the rim seem to be gone and he's bullying bigs inside, taking rebounds finishing through contact... very very nice.

This. I had him as my bust of the draft when he was in mocks going at 4 or 5. He's really lucky he fell to Miami where he can be a role player and just play some defense and get out in transition.

Greg Anthony back on TV?!?!

Glad to see $80 hookers arent holding him down.

Did you hear his commentary yesterday? He didn't know North and South Dakota were different states and he tried to play it off.
Anthony said, "Well that is the same state. It is just different parts." His commentary partner said "No. They are different states." and then tried to move on and Anthony said, "Oh yeah. They changed that a few years back."

He was reminiscing back to the 1880s. Doesn't everybody do that from time to time?

Still think Winslow > Johnson, but we will see. It's closer than I thought.

Kaminsky is going to be really good if he can add some strength. He is pretty weak right now.

Charlotte might actually be an interesting team to watch.

I like the additions they made in Batum and Kaminsky.

So, I'm just noticing that Summer League started. I looked at Myles Turner's stats and am pretty impressed: 20/8/3 blks in his first Summer League game? Kinda makes me wish Bryce Cotton didn't go off in a meaningless late-season game.

Got to love Turners game. The turnaround fadeaway looks beautiful.

Can hit the 3.

Block shots.

Willing passer.

Damn he was one pick away...

Fat dammit. He's going to be good. Mobility isn't ideal, but he's got some Chris Bosh to his game. Plus, he plays some defense. He's getting better fast.
