that the Jazz have not been just throwing around all kinds of **** to see what sticks. I think they have handled this off-season well so far. We have a solid squad, with great potential who have already shown they can lead this league in at least one area, and did so with great chemistry and commeraderie. I think the front office knows that and does not want to mess with things. Imagine the message it would send if they were suddenly throwing offers and RFA's, knowing they would be matched anyway, and knowing that the upgrades for the most part are not huge step changes. It would tell Hayward, Hood, Exum, Favors, et al that we really don't think they can get there, that we are desperate to replace them and upgrade at all costs. It would shoot the chemistry in the foot and be a slap in the face to the players.

Now if they are really working on a deal and are looking to move players/assets for upgrades, then I think that sends the right message to the team. Not that we are just trying to get rid of any and all off them but that we have a plan, we recognize what we have and what we need, and are willing to make the moves necessary to put stronger players into the mix with our core. That is how you keep our best guys happy, confident and comfortable, while working to take the team to the next level.

I am glad too, we have a good core and I think letting them grow and letting them know they are trusted is important

Though I am a little unsettled by the potential loss of booker and the trey lyles situation now

And we've heard several times from several different players that they believe we are building something special here. That feeling, that belief in themselves and their teammates, is a great sign.

We even heard it from Jeremy Evans as he was on his way to a different team.

We see it. The players see it. You've got to know the FO sees it.

Now it's time to let the league see it.

They got a glimpse last year. I cannot help but think that they have an inkling of what might be coming. I sure hope we take them by storm and blow everyone's minds. Cannot wait for the season to start!!!!!

Solid post, team chemistry is underrated imo. But I guess it's fun to throw out all kinds of names in FA. The key here is not to burn the cake, you want to make the right move at the right time, you want that cake to be baked just right so when the time comes you pull it out of the oven and enjoy every single bite of it.

Only "wrong" move for the Jazz here is to bring in a player that is detrimental to the end goal. A player that makes no sense on a bad contract.

Letting what we have "bake" or bring in players that add to what we have started are both paths to the same place. Neither is "wrong".

I enjoy ice cream with my cake. I just want the Jazz to buy a little ice cream this off season.

Looking better all the time: Lyles looking he can contribute, Neto on board, Pleiss to follow (?), Cotton still looking good, Hood and Exum going to be big contributors. Nice work DL and QS.

I liked Lyles game. All that balance, soft hands and body control that the FO talked about sure seemed to shine thru last night. He has work to do but he seems like he could be a solid back up to Favors down the road.

I like him.

But why did he pull down one single rebound?
