Chad Ford Article

Offers I'd consider:
-Blake Griffin or Eric Gordon/Chris Kaman/Minnesota's unprotected 2012 pick
-Dwight Howard extended
-Collison/Granger/Hibbert
-Kevin Love, the rights to Ricky Rubio, and picks
-Kevin Durant or Russell Westbrook and picks
-Brook Lopez and picks
-Nothing the Knicks have to offer, **** them

None of those are remotely happening. 2012 will likely be kind to owners, stay the course unless the end is inevitable.

And for what it's worth, the speculation of Deron Williams leaving has been 100% national media hype outside of him saying that he signed the 3-year PO extension to keep the team from resting on their laurels. In fact, everyone but two players on the Redeem Team (funny name in retrospect) is either washed up (Redd, Kidd), was (Chandler), is getting there quick (Prince), has switched teams amid controversy (Lebron, Bosh, Boozer), publicly lobbied to be traded (Carmelo, CP3, Kobe, Kidd), or angled his free agency to bring in others and won (Wade). It sounds like restlessness is coming out of the Howard camp, but that might just be more national media BS. And then there's Deron.

I believe he wants to win, but I truly think he's cut from a different cloth than those dudes. Again, if the Jazz continue to get worse and the writing's on the wall, do something, but if they're not going to get anything close to equal value, they might as well see how far this goes.

yeah you like your men to wear make up

i do, ru paul is da man!

yeah your ideas are garbage, just giving it to ya straight

all of those moves are pretty unrealistic, bar the Eric Gordon idea (which I wouldn't do), the Kevin Love/Rubio one I'd do but I don't think the Wolves would. Brook Lopez/Devin Harris/1sts may be too good to turn down though.

what am I even talking about. I dont even want him traded.

Did I say I did?

That was a good article.

Holy ****, I can't believe I'm actually on the trade Deron bandwagon. I need a drink.

No drink needed. My opinion of Williams has really deteriorated over the past 1 1/2 years. He bitches and moans about losing, yet he never talks about the need for HIM to play better. His defense has been terrible, his shooting is off. Deron is one flabby boy. You'd think he'd hit the weights and do some conditioning in the off-season. I know he had to rest his wrist, but that didn't stop him from jumping off rocks.

Leadership? It's been lacking.

I'll still remain a JAzz fan. And I think Corbin will be a good coach. But I say try to get good value for Deron. The league has a lot of good PG's. I'm not so sure Deron at MAX is a good bargain. He's been outplayed or at least matched by quite a few PG's of late. He's an all-star for sure, but I wouldn't pay MAX for him when it comes time for his next contract.

Wow the Jazz are really in no man's land now. We knew team wouldn't contend this year, and with Sloan departing it's likely to be several years as a new coach and possible new system is instituted.
Do the Jazz play it risky and surround him with acquirable seasoned veterans (Rip, Dalembert, etc) on long contracts like Cleveland did with Lebron and hope its enough?? I don't like that idea, too risky.
Deron has 3-4 more prime years left, it might in the best interest for both parties to work a trade out. Key is the player we get must be young (< 24), or it doesn't make sense to trade Deron as the team is years away from elite.
Curry, Favors, Lopez, Eric Gordon plus picks would all be a good starting point. New Jersey may be the best option as their owner wants to win now and lure Carmelo their. They also have the cap space to absorb AK with us taking little back in return.

What the ****, why would we trade Deron Williams for a bunch of ******** from the Nets. I'm really starting to get sick of this. Why would we trade Deron Williams at all? He may be right in that this will improve the team (if that really was his opinion), after all, he's in the locker-room everyday, not you and I or the media.

The Jazz are going to make a big splash by trading for Dalembert and Rip. LOOK OUT, LEAGUE.

Short of a miracle, the Jazz are not contending in the next 3 years. I know that, you know that, Deron knows that. Lebron James walked away from Cleveland for nothing, the franchise will now win 10 games for the next 5 years. Carmelo looks to be walking away this year for nothing, they will have a similar fate. Do you want that to be the Jazz?

Would I trade Deron for Stephen Curry? Maybe a HELL YES. It would give us a redo with a PG, and you think lil Stephen Curry would ever get all Diva-ish like D-will

The more I think about this, IMO Dwill has to be traded. He is my fav player, but I don't think there is a chance in hell he signs an extension now.

Hypothetically speaking, we would have to consider Curry plus a combination of Biedrins, Udoh, Wright and draft picks. We would need a solid PG in return and Curry's numbers are down because Monta Ellis has the ball the entire game (literally). They guy can play and he's intelligent. Plus, his dad played for us so keeping it in the family.

I think the Warriors could put together a desirable package. I posted this idea in the "ridiculous trade" thread:

GS trades: Curry, Udoh, Lee, 1st rounder
Utah trades: DWill, Bell

If you do this, then trade AK for a couple of shooters, then you've got yourself a deep-*** squad.
