One Love and White Chocolate

How old are you guys? Did you ever watch those finals with Ginobili?

I don't give a rats *** about numbers. The guy was really good.

Ginobili is so severely underrated. It's a damn shame. The guys could have easily averaged 28 on a bad team. One of the craftiest, smartest players I've ever seen. Back then, was always saying he was arguably the beat shooting guard in the league or at least in the conversation.

Wade's brilliance was too short-lived for me. He was spectacular in '06, no doubt.

Kobe gets knocked down several tiers, in my book, for being a ball-stopping, selfish player.

Manu is one of the best 5-on-5 players I've ever watched. A better 5-on-5 player than Kobe and Wade, who were great at commanding offenses but needed to command them in a certain way to have an impact. Manu sees the floor incredibly well, and makes an impact on every possession. He isn't as good a first-option player as the other guys, but since there'll always be 5 guys on the floor, I don't have to evaluate him on those terms.

Yep.

I agree 100%

I would have picked him in this contest every time, but I knew how under appreciated he is. It was a crime he wasn't routinely on Allstar teams. Didn't matter to Ginobili though. He was winning. That's what mattered.

Man, how do you guys forget how great he was in big situations?

Ginobili has one of the most tenacious hearts you'll ever see on the court. In a really big moment, he's so clutch, has all the moxy and brass balls any basketball player has ever had. He'll take it behind his back, dribble between your legs, throw a dunk down in your face, hit a huge 3 right in your face.

One of my favorite players of alltime for sure

Manu is definitely not on Wade/Kobe level.

Spy, you are usually pretty good at this, but you've missed this one. I promise.

He's not on the level with the same numbers and career, but as for a pure winner and being able to impose his will and come up huge, he's easily right there with them.

He's just never got the recognition he should have.

Duncan and Pop are both big reasons for him being such a good player.

It's about situation for a lot of players, Kobe and Wade are good no matter what.

So you're saying that a Manu-Pau combo would've won two titles? Got it.

I just don't think he could have been the #1 guy on a team and won titles.

Wait, what, that over the hill Shaq Heat team with Manu would've won it all too.

Sounds about right.

Ya, maybe.

Wade did have to be extra special to win it, but they still could have won it with Ginobili.

They had a lot of good players on that team. Shaq was still very good, and they had Alonzo who played great too.

So you're saying that a Manu-Pau combo would've won two titles? Got it.

Why not?

That team was great because of their length. It was not just Pau. The combination of Pau, Odom, and Bynum was really hard to beat. That was 3 seven footers in the front court. Pau Gasol was arguably the best big man in the game at the time. He was playing out of his mind. So ya, Ginobli in that mix would have been very good too.

Look, I know this is a very hard argument to win. It's just a personal opinion of mine. It's hard to sell what isn't main stream.

But this all started because One Love brushed off Ginobili and Parker like they were scrubs, and Duncan was dragging their dead carcasses around.

That just isn't true. Ginobili and Parker have played huge rules in Duncan winning titles. Regardless if you think they are or aren't on Wade and Kobe's level, and it really doesn't matter.

Duncan needed help from other great players just like every other great player has.

When did I ever say Ginobili and Parker were scrubs? Nobody here is saying that.

Hack going full retard up in here, LOL ...

What ya'll need to go do is re watch the 2005 NBA finals against the Pistons. Or watch some highlights. Ginobili was freaking beast. He was the best player on the floor. Got robbed from the finals MVP. All Spurs fans will tell you that.

Tim Duncan has to be one of the most underrated player to have ever played the game.

He didn't have Pippen (Jordan), he didn't have Wade (LeBron), he didn't have Kobe (Shaq), etc, all of whom are future HOFers. He only had Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili who are good players but I don't think you can say they are one of the GREAT players of all time.

To have taken a team with Parker and Ginobili to win 4 Championships (not counting the 1 he won with Robinson) is a GREAT achievement and is a testament to how valuable he is as a team player
.

This IS was you said.

That's not saying they're "scrubs".

Haha.. you crazy bro????

You said they weren't great players, and you basically said they weren't HOF's. Which they are on both accounts.

And you said he HAD TO TAKE THEM TO THE FINALS. In a way that basically says he could have had better, or they weren't very good.

Those are your words clown
