I'm stunned at the reactions of people like Mo who I see as reasonable thinkers. I hope that I am somehow misinterpreting what they are saying. The topic of this discussion is the selling of organs and tissues from aborted infants. It is unquestionably illegal. IMO it does not matter if you believe that the vast majority of what this organization does is good. The fact that they are talking in this way about something they are clearly aware they should not be doing is bad.

Interesting factoid: women who get abortions have a suicide rate that is 152% higher than other women who haven't. One would have to be curious as to if there's a correlation there.

You clearly didn't watch the video. The conversation is clearly about a for profit venture while hiding it under the umbrella of research.

You're probably not stupid but that was a stupid post.

There is a pretty significant difference between a 5 year old and a blob the size of a blueberry. IMO if you're going to have an abortion you should have it in the first 3 months, the sooner the better. If you make it to the 3rd trimester just have the baby and give it up for adoption, but it better be a white baby or MAYBE MAYBE MAAYYBBBEEE a cute little black kid. If its a mexican or an asian it can pretty much look forward to foster care for the next 18 years.

Abstinence is obviously best, but I'm a realist and I know thats not a realistic option. Never has been never will be. BC needs to be easier and cheaper to get, although its pretty cheap and easy now but it could always be better. As a last resort a first trimester abortion is better than an unwanted child.

I would never be involved in an abortion but I'm not going to judge someone that chooses to.

These comments tell me that you either did not watch the video (which is not even of the same event that your rebuttal describes), or that defending Planned Parenthood is so important to you that you don't really care what the video showed. Whether you can admit it or not, it is obvious from the dialogue that the Planned Parenthood rep knew what they were discussing was illegal.

I have a question for those people who are willing to accept the Planned Parenthood argument that these fees are directly associated with the costs of handling this tissue. Why can the fee more than triple based on specimen quality? What is it about processing quality specimens that is so much more expensive? I ask this because from an outsider's perspective it seems that the difference in price reflects the difference in value on the open market, not the difference in costs associated with processing it.
