What's new

So I was walking out the door for work this morning and

Dawg, I can't wait for my girl to be born because of moments like that.

So jealous.

They are the best. No joke. A major pain in the *** a lot of the times but they are still the best thing to ever happen to me. I'm sure you'll feel the same. Good luck with the little one.

My 8 year old is a HUGE daddies girl and she wants to go on Daddy/Daughter dates all the time. When I do take her on one she will take a shower, get dressed to the 9s and make her mom do her hair and put on body spray lol.

I think thats the game plan. My wife is gone tonight so I'll be doing the makeup and hair myself I guess.

Red Lobster here we come. (Unless there is ANYWHERE else to get crab in SLC)

There is a Joe's Crab Shack in Sandy. 9400 S State St, Sandy, UT 84070

Girls are WAY easier than boys. I mean WAY WAY easier. Wow.

That said, we had a similar experience with our daughter years ago when she was about 4 (she is almost 14 now). She had an imaginary friend who had a dog. The friend was named Esmerelda and the dog was named Shooshy. One night my wife and I were going on a date and on our way out the door our daughter asked us where we were going. I said we were going to eat sushi. Her little lip started to quiver and tears welled up in her eyes as she asked "you are going to eat my dog?"

It was even better when I just said "yep".

just kidding....I just gave her a hug and told her I would never eat her dog.

:)

I have never ever heard anyone say that before. So far my boy, only 18 months mind you, is 1000000000 times easier than my daughter was and is.

My boy is right in the middle of my girls. #s 1 and 2 are hard. #5 (boy) is ok and #s 3 and 4 are easy as hell.

After 18 months of having a boy and a girl here are the differences I've noticed up to this point.

1. If my daughter was running and fell I was on a full sprint to make sure she was ok. If my son eats it, I might kind of look up from whatever I'm doing to make sure there is no blood. I generally just say "Get up, your fine." And he is fine, even when there is blood. The kid never cries. It's great.

2. My son is 100% content to be on his own, he is on his own destroying everything in his path but he's not hanging on to my leg constantly like my daughter was.

3. My daughter was fully potty trained by the time she was 2. Hated having a gross diaper from a very early age. I doubt my son will ever be potty trained. He's totally fine with poo.

4. My daughter loved me when she was a baby, still does, and would sit on my lap content for hours. My son will not sit still for 1 second and would rather try and bite me when I'm not looking than sit on my lap and chill out.

5. I cannot wait for my son to get older so he can do guy stuff with me i.e. watch sports, go golfing, drink beer etc .... It kills me that my little girl is growing up. I never want her to get a day older.

Just thing's I've noticed.

I'm confused. People think there are innate personality differences between baby boys and baby girls?

Dude. She would like joes crab shack WAY better.
Tacky weird toys on the wall, lots of noise/music/singing. It's like a party in there.

I like their food better than RL too

I think there are generalized personality traits that might be more common in one gender than the other. Such as girls being more nuturing. But there is not set in stone personaity traits that seperate boys and girls.

Fishing and camping bro

And since we're on the subject of sex differences, are there any physical differences between boys and girls at a young age (apart from the obvious)? Say, around 6 years old or so? Or do they begin differentiating closer to puberty I've always wondered about that.

And in your experience, these personality traits are apparent even as babies or toddlers?

It seems to me there is.
I have found that little girls love the color pink and love barbies, nail polish, makeup etc.

Boys like bugs, wrestling, roughhousing and getting messy and are generally tougher.

At least that sums up most of my nieces and nephews as babies/toddlers.
(I have allot of nieces and nephews btw)
