Does this say something about Americans?

One thing that should be pointed out is that the median age of Germany is 10 years older than that of the US.

Half of the German population is older than 46. That number in the US is 36. That is a HUGE difference that has a very real impact on each society.

IIRC, Ours is slightly higher but more importantly we have many more young immigrants entering the country every year. The US is aging but not as fast as Germany. The age gap between the 2 countries is likely to further expand over the next decade.

The US will age though and the violent crime rate is probably going to continue to drop. I don't think age is the only factor but it is an important one.
