But this part of it made me think about our blameless society where everyone sues for everything instead of owning up to ****.
Maybe I am reading too much into this, but these things often take the tone that McDonald's is responsible for fat-asses that cannot order for themselves without destroying their bodies and since the fat options are still available it is McDonald's fault somehow. As long as someone has even the option to order triple meat + triple bacon + egg + mayo + bun then McDonald's has failed since they haven't adequately protected grown adults from themselves. Wow fat people, take some responsibility for yourselves and your choices. It should be PAINFULLY obvious to even the most casual observer that pounds and pounds of meat and fat and crap are going to mean you gain weight and get fatter. People are responsible for what they eat, not McDonald's or any other establishment.
Rant aside, I think this looks kind of cool. Rarely do I get what is exactly on the menu when I go to Mickey-Dees anyway. Might be fun to order this way.
Also, could this be a foreshadow of the end of the counter staff? How hard could it be to add a money option to these machines and order and pay all at the kiosk, get a number, then come forward when the number is called.

While McDonald’s hasn’t exactly been known as a health food vendor, experts say this is a step in the right direction.
“Offering more whole foods is never a bad idea,” registered dietitian nutritionist Beth Warren, author of Living a Real Life with Real Food, tells Yahoo Health.
Of course, customers also have the ability to load up on unhealthy choices, such as opting for a larger bun and adding as much bacon, cheese, and fried egg as they want to a burger, which registered dietitian Keri Gans, author of The Small Change Diet, is wary of.
“They’re offering more vegetables than they’ve ever offered but a person can still lay on too much cheese, mayo-based dressing, or a large bun — nobody needs to supersize their bun,” she tells Yahoo Health. “At the end of the day it’s going to come down to calories.”
