What concerned me about the video is that almost all of the assists came after he pounded/held the ball for several seconds. That may be just a function of his team, of course, but I had hoped to see at least a few more assists that were part of good team ball movement and not just him controlling the ball most of the time.
Yeah, it was mostly due to his old team style of play. They only had like two guys in the entire roster that could create consistently with the ball in their hands (Raul and the other PG), most of the wings were spot up shooters. So they used a lot of pick and rolls, horns with Neto as the ballhandler and curls to open up for shooters.
Raul is definitely at his best when running the pick and roll, he's a natural playmaker, at times it looks like everytime he runs a pick and roll something really good will happen. He's less efficient if he just brings the ball, pass and park in the corner watching the play develop. Honestly, i didn't watch a lot of the Jazz last year and i can't say i'm familiar with the offense Snyder runs. But if it consists of good ball/player movement, with a couple of pick and rolls here and there (especially if it's with Gobert or Favors, or any athletic big man), well, then Raul is gonna be just fine. If he improves his jump shot, then even better.
