Just been reading a few websites about the Jazz and not one mentions anything about a possible trade or anything. Have you guys heard anything? And do you think that it will happen? Or want it to happen?

After AK went down it just showed how much the Jazz bench Lacks Depth. I hope they make a trade for some more Depth. Doing whatever it takes to win. If theres a time to take on a contract or make a big change I think nows the perfect time. Utah can't get much worst and if they open up the offense alittle and have some freedom, a new player or 2 could come in and learn the system a whole lot easier. I would just like to see the change now. So we don't have to go though this again next year.

After AK went down? The bench has been gawdawful all season long.

Don't count on a trade, unless it results in the Millers saving a few bucks like last season when Maynor was thrown in with the Harpring contract. Like it or not, this is the team for the duration.

I for one am ok with that. What use does it serve to squeak into the playoffs as the 5 (at best) or 7th/8th (more likely) seed only to get pounded by San Antonio, Los Angeles or even OKC in the 1st round?

This team is a LONG, LONG ways from being competitive. Short of getting Kobe and Gasol, I don't think just two players would make the Jazz a contender. This team is a MESS. There's no offense, no defense, no leadership.

Gotta hope the Jazz MISS the playoffs and are able to get a draft pick who can actually contribute, then make a couple of moves to bring in some toughness and defense (and I'm not talking about Raja/Elson-type players).

I say throw in the towel and give Hayward 30 mins/per and Evans 20 mins. Those guys need to develop into reliable bench players. Problem is then how to upgrade the worst starting group in the league...you know, the five who get outscored almost every 1st quarter of every game or wilt down the stretch.

I don't know what to anticipate. I haven't heard a whisper.

My knowledge of Jazz history tells me to expect nothing will happen, and at the same time I really wouldn't be shocked if they decided to trade DWill for the right package. I mean, considering the likelihood of a lockout next year, they might only have until this year's deadline to get maximum value out of such a trade. Sheesh, part of me thinks that this is the right idea, especially if you could get Curry, Udoh, and multiple picks.... I dunno. If AK could be traded for a couple of mid-tier guys that can shoot, I don't see how you can't make that deal. That said, I think AK could be much better with the longer leash that he's likely to get from Corbin.

I dunno, man. I dunno. I fear that dark times are ahead.

You are absolutely full of yogurt. The bench brought us back in so many games this season, especially early. How quickly fans forget.
And shot us out of many more. CJ averaging 12 points based on volume shooting (only 41% FG's). Okur with less than 5 pts/per in limited play. No one else over 4 pts/per. Yep that's an absolutely brilliant bench. Oh, I forgot, points and FG% don't matter because our bench has lockdown defenders. If I'm full of yogurt, then the Jazz bench is full of curdled milk.

... and, you know, if the Jazz can move DWill in the hypothetical GS deal mentioned above and save a bunch of money, then decide to keep AK and just let his contract expire, they will be able to make a strong case for a hard cap in the new CBA as they will be way under for '11-'12. As far as I know, this is what we all want. In addition, there have been talks about including a franchise tag (a la the NFL) which will make it easier for us to keep the rising stars on that new team.

I suppose the reason there is no news is that 1- Deron hasn't told managment what players he would like to see gone and which ones he wants added. or 2- the trade has not yet been approved by Kobe Bryant.

Trade has been approved by Kobe, but Stern is in the process of verifying which former Laker players have not yet officially retired so they can be included in the trade.

I can verify this is true.

But when have the Jazz ever made a move that we'd heard about before it happened? Ronnie Brewer?
