This is among the worst teams for him. Besides the aforementioned hurdles for an asthmatic he would be way down the depth chart.

At the end of the day, I really believe what happened with Bennett had a lot to do with confidence. I swear back at Findlay he used to have a really silky, confident shooting stroke from like 15-20 ft. Something went awry..

The whole Asthma and conditioning/body fat part of the story is just such a mess - If thats really what limited him at some point, which sounds like it was the case, and they knew that at the time of the draft and still vouched for him #1 - that's damning, shame on the Cavs for that. You could make the case that no teams set their #1pick up for failure, worse than that.

He's not a bust though, not yet. Yaroslav Kovalav was a bust, Rafael Arujao was a bust. Bennett will stick around in the NBA, he's only 22. Good luck to him!!

he didn't agree to a buyout he was waived. if some one picks him up off waivers they are stuck with the full bill minny is off the hook. if he clears waivers then minny is on the books for his full amount.

Perhaps not. Portland is WAY under the floor. Whether they spend the money on contracts or hand it out at the end of the season, they have to burn cash. If they like Bennett enough, they could claim him and it really doesn't cost them anything in the end.

I think there is a good chance he goes to the Blazers. He played really well for team Canada and two of the assistant coaches on Blazers were working with team Canada ( Jay Triana David Vanterpool) where they saw Bennett play really well.

The Timberwolves are dumb for just letting him go. I swear to god he can play and there is untapped potential there. People should go watch some highlights from this year when he played for team Canada. He looks pretty good. I'm baffled as to why he isn't getting much of chance. He asked for a release because he knows it's his best option considering what a raw deal he's getting.

I really like Booker, but I'd rather take a chance on Bennett. I think he can be better than Booker. The Jazz or any other team would be dumb to not pick this guy up. It's sad that so many people can't make an unbiased opinion on him. It's like he got the bust tag and now he can't shake it no matter what. A lot of people are just afraid of looking dumb instead of using an objective unbiased opinion on him. Whoever picks him up is gonna get a steal.

I have a friend who is a big Blazers fan and their statategy right now according to my friend is to scan the waiver wire and see what shows up like the Jazz did with JIngles. I don't know if this would play into that strategy or not.

I'm sure Minnesota shopped him and had no takers.

Minnesota has a lot of bigs: Towns, Dieng, Pekovic, Payne, Bjelica and some minutes for Garnett. No room for Bennett.

Portland would need to decide if they want to give him minutes or stick with Davis/Vonleh.
