Fiesta of dellusion... (or Boston Celtics fans want to trade for Favors)

Lol

Oh man. That's funny.

Lol. He calls the center position a draw. Wtf?

Man Kings fans are desperate. I kinda feel bad for them. It's like they have no idea they are going to suck for a very long time. Their management group sucks bad. And it pretty much starts at the top. I don't forsee them being good in anytime soon.

Cousins is all they got, and he's a mental train wreck.

I don't understand why a lot of other fans and writers around the NBA can't see a good thing when it's happening in Utah. Why does that give them a huge blind spot for basketball intelligence.

For example: I know that the Wolves have a bright future ahead. I don't have to be a fan of them, or live in that state to know what's going on there. Why is it so hard for people to recognize what's going on here? Even big name writers and analysts do it too. I don't get it. The Utah Mormon bias can't be that strong, can it? Wtf!

This x 100. Orlando has a good thing going to. It's really not that hard to say or see. But **** I guess we will finally get some respect after we win 50+ this season.

It's a case of a fan having little knowledge of our team and a lot of looking at stats. For example calling Gay and Hayward a draw due to stats being similar. If this was a national writer not a fan of either team then it would be bad. But regular fans always say their teams players are better.

Even if I wasn't a fan of the Jazz. Gobert, Favors, and Hayward would all have my respect and I'd know they were really good.

I'd probably wonder about Exum a bit and Burks like I already do. So I can understand how fans opinion's may differ on those types of players.

I was tempted to post a comment to that Sacramento piece offering a $5000 bet right now that the Jazz have at least a 10-game better season than Sacramento next year. Easy money if he would take it.

Positional breakdown is some seriously loser ****.

Sorry about your tire-fire, Sacramento.

It's not a Mormon bias thing.

Big market? No.
Good 2/3rd of the season? No.
Flashy scorer? No.
All Star? No.

Lots of teams finish the season strong like Utah (50 win pace). Most of those teams flop the next year. I don't think we will flop, but after we started so poorly there was nothing to get the average fans attention. Gobert was flashy, but the casual fan doesn't appreciate Gobert.

When we win, people will notice. Or when Exum starts scoring 20 a night. Until then, Utah is an afterthought.

You need to repost this in every voting thread for the Jazz Fanz drafts.

In this week's edition, I present to you the Denver Nuggets' fans:
https://www.reddit.com/r/denvernugg...u_could_trade_situations_with_utah_right_now/
The question they are discussing is: If you could trade situations with Utah right now would you?
I wouldn't, I think we have two potential stars in Nurkic and I'm very hopeful about Muiday, plus Gallo isn't out of the realm to be at least close to star level. We have a great mix of veterans who accept their role and want to be in Denver. Utah is developing really well, lots of expectation to make the playoffs in 2016. Gobert is fantastic, but will/has a defensive center ever led a team anywhere? I don't see them as having "that guy" still and now they won't be getting high draft picks, I can't see them picking up a centerpiece in FA either. Could you see Utah as similar to the Nuggets directly after the Melo trade? Not in make up, but rather that they are a good solid team that gets slaughtered in the playoffs.

I want Alec Burks and Gordon Hayward, but otherwise no.

We have the Knicks pick this year, I project the Knicks to be a top five worst team in the league. That's a potential superstar coming to the Nuggets with a really good draft next year. The Jazz are about to enter the same mediocrity the Nuggets were in the last decade. The Nuggets are simply in a better position for the future. In addition if we add a free agent in 2016 like I expect us to do, we can have three potential superstars (Mudiay, Nurkic, and a top 5 pick) Gallinari (a player that I expect to be an all star next year) and a free agent (all star to superstar) that will be enticed by the idea of winning a championship with the team with as much depth as the Nuggets.

dat Nuggets depth... superstars are flocking around them to be part of their depth... This one is so ridiculous that I'm king of wondering if it's thinly veiled sarcasm at the OP. What do you guys think?

Noooooooooo!

I wouldn't. They don't have a point guard, and many of their players are near their peak. In the long run, I think Nurkic will be better than Gobert, Mudiay will be better than Exum, Gallo is about even with Hayward, Favors is only player I would switch one of our starters for.

Plus we will have a better pick this year to add to our core.

I completely agree. Not sure I wouldn't trade Gallo for Hayward. I love Danilo, and I might even say he's actually better, but just because of injury reasons I like Hayward better. Definitely agree on the point guard situation. They don't have one and a team needs a good point guard in this league.

Today the fiesta is joined by the Charlotte Hornets fans:

Would you guys trade Cody, Marvin, and our top 5 protected 2016 1st for Derrick Favors? And if so do you think Utah would be interested in this trade?

Not sure. I don't see Favors and Jefferson as a very good front court pairing, so I'd rather ship Al somewhere with the pick and keep Cody then trade Cody and the pick and let Al walk in the offseason.

Yeah, I was more saying that since you'd let Al walk (I assumed that), I'd rather trade Al + pick (and Marvin too if another team is interested and it makes sense) into an asset then send away Cody + Al + Marvin + pick for Favors.

I feel like Utah probably wouldn't do that deal anyway, but that's not relevant in terms of judging whether Charlotte should do it.
I think Utah is willing to deal Favors but for a different type of player than Cody. They'd save about 5 million the following year and get the pick, but that pick is likely to be around 12-18 and Cody's QO may negate some of the cap savings.

For Charlotte I'd be a lot more interested but only if Al is moved at the same time. I also think Charlotte would prefer to trade Cody for a SG or SF

I think your premise is solid though - Favors and Frank would fit pretty well.

Yes, the 5 million savings will be great for us. Then we will have to spend not 45 but 50 million to the salary floor. Makes sense.

If we can wait till December, I would throw Jeremy Lin at them to make this happen, especially if they take Big Al back instead of Marvin.

Favors/Hawes
MKG/Frank
Batum/Marvin
Lamb/Daniels/PJ
Kemba/Roberts

Sign Jeff Adrien as a fifth big (eventually 4th when he overtakes Hawes)

Utah probably doesn't if they start the season well though.

Totally! Jeremy Lin totally does it! He's the Luigi Datome of Charlotte offers! He's the one we've been waiting for to get rid off Favors!
LIn + Zeller + 2016 1st + Marvin for Favors and Trey Burke

i honestly feel like thats a little light for Utah though, kind of like a 3 quarters and a nickel for a dollar deal.

Some of them at least realize it's 'a little light' for Utah.

I think Favors is going to be with the Jazz longer than Hayward will even if they both retire here. Favors is vintage wine. He's one of those players like Stockton and Malone that get better with age. I totally think Favors will be schoolin young dudes when he's in his late 30's. I kinda see Hayward hitting that NBA age wall sooner(sorry G-time). Favors will be one of those dudes that when he retires we will all wonder how many more years he could have played if he wanted to.

Kemba

Ha ha the funny thing in that scenario is that if they were to get favors in that trade, they would still suck

I do want Jeremy Lin though. I think he would be a much better starter than Burke and I would really like him as a backup to Exum in years to come.

The only way Charlotte's side adds up to 80 cents is if that draft pick is in the top 3. Otherwise it's about 35 cents.

Obviously we would not trade Favors for that pile of garbage, or quarter and a dime as Cy said.

What is Favors worth though? With his contract so low, and his ability, he is probably only going to be shipped out for an all star talent or an assured top 5 draft pick. I don't see the team trading him though, unless they just can't make it work with him and Rudy in the frontcourt. But they are the wasatch front though, so that is irrelevant. Favors is a Jazz lifer.

Unless it nets a superstar, the Jazz aren't going to deal Favors. Nor do I think I would want them to. Simply put, he's a very good all around 4 who loves the organization and the fans adore him, if in an underrated sense. He has great chemistry with Gobert and is very cool with the team and coaches, and they rely on him in turn. Coach Q is the ideal coach for the Fave as well.

All that AND his reasonable contract?

I will lead the riot if they trade him for anything less than equal or greater value.
