Very likable man. Smart, handsome, extremely relatable back story.

Unfortunately the critiques about Obama and being unexperienced go double for Carson. Never been elected to a public office.

But if the Rs had any desire to expand their base and improve their odds for election wins the next decade they would choose some combo of a Carson/Rubio ticket.

They would make border security & amnesty, gay marrige support and equal womens pay part of their platform.

But they won't because they are beyond dense.

If the GOP is smart, they go with a Jeb-Kasich ticket imo. Bush has the name recognition, whether Dems hate that name or not, and that would likely lock up Florida and Ohio, two huge states.

well he's an islamophobe. So that should tell you if the man is fit for holding position as POTUS in the 21st century. Along with the fact that a medical professional implied a lack of efficacy of contemporary vaccination in a national debate.

I did say I need to learn more. Why do you call him an Islamophobe? Do you have a link? Also, I didn't find his debate comments on vaccinations of particular concern, but I could easily have missed something. Unless his position on that topic is totally out of whack (which I will have to look into) it would not influence my vote.

That he and Trump, neither of whom is a serious candidate nor remotely qualified for the job by virtue of either experience, knowledge or temperament, are leading among Republican voters says much of what we need to know about the current Republican base.

At the end of the day, I suspect Rubio will get the nomination. Fringe candidates frequently do well early on but simply can't sustain it. But, to the extent that these two buffoons continue to shape the Republican Brand in the minds of rational voters (e.g. not Teabaggers), I'm all for it and wish them the best of success.
