You are gonna regret saying that. Mark my words.

Unless your dealing with an idiot GM, which Danny Ainge isn't.. There's no way your going to extract the same value from that pick, 4 months after the fact.
Lindsey didn't use a lottery pick on a PF that's 3rd on the depth chart, to then go and panic over the PG position, they've got a plan, they had these scenarios covered since they finalized their draft board.
Devin Booker was certainly good enough for the Jazz to draft with the pick, at relative low risk and high upside, they preferred Trey though. He could also feasibly play some SF and some C too. They were using him and Booker as the bigs at one point. I like that lineup better than Booker and Pleiss.. Trey is very skilled in faceup, makes great passes, he's shown enough flashes IMO in SL and Preseason..
He's got Greg Monroe type of skills plus some, once his jumpers on point, he'll be very dangerous with the ball..
I like the idea of Payne, but....
You say that if the Jazz were going to trade Lyles, then they would have traded that pick on draft day. Why, then, would OKC trade Payne? Both players are in similar positions within their teams: buried on the depth chart. Also, trading Payne for pick(s) does nothing to help them win THIS YEAR, and they're ALL IN.
In other words, I like the idea of Payne, but I don't see much reality in the notion of acquiring him.
Let's just be honest. It was a bad pick and we are all desperately hoping he turns out to be decent.
I guarantee he has zero star potential. He's a role player at best. We should have aimed for higher upside.
We all hated the pick for a reason. There is nothing special about him. We'd be a lot better off exploring trades for him. I know that's not going to happen, but neither are any of these other trade ideas. We are all just fantasizing about the Jazz making a trade that will help. I know they won't even think about trading him. But that's just dumb. And in 5 years it will be proven to be the case.
Has there ever been a mid-season rookie for rookie trade?
Nice editIdk
First-time for everything
This is a moment when you trade for a steady hand to mind the ship for a bit, not to trade for someone to take Exum's minutes next season.
Our upside this season is making the 7th or 8th seed and getting bounced in round one. That's not the ultimate end goal. You play to the end goal not the short term gain.
Lyles is a great project as a third big. If he gets 15% stronger and a reliable 3-pt shot, then he's exactly what we need. And neither of those things are unreasonable to expect. I wasn't thrilled with the pick, but I see the upside. You don't dump that for a guy like Rozier. That's bat****.... pardon me, that's hack**** crazy.
For a guy like Rozier? Do you even have an idea how good he is? It seems like your whole opinion is based off where he was picked.

I know who he is. And I'm confident we can find a guy like him much easier than we could find another guy with Lyles' upside. ...Look, dude, nobody has supported this trade, so....
Terry Rozier's current PER is -20.10.
He's a real catch guys!![]()
Go bump every single trade thread from years ago. No matter how good it looks now, they will be filled with a bunch of people not liking it.
that's particularly true for your trade ideas
