Alec Burks: 4 years 42 million

Fantastic contract for a player who wants to be here and who is ok coming off the bench.
Not to mention is passing has vastly improved

He's also fun as hell to watch. His defense was brutal tonight, but I love what I'm seeing out of the guy.

Not really related to this thread but I heard locke on the radio talking about how the three wing line-up should be getting more burn.

He said that the Burks, hood, Hayward, favors, and rudy line-up has only played 17 minutes together this season and they are shooting like 77% from the field and 63% from three.

Obviously not something sustainable but Damn

Trey has looked good so far this season, but yeah, I wanna see more of the 3 wing lineup.

Ya treys play has made the three wing line-up less necessary for sure.

I sure get excited when I see it though

Burks contract is obviously a steal, methinks he's probably a safe bet to play well above his pay-grade in the final 2 seasons. He can legitimately play minutes at PG, SG and SF. Plus he's the only vet signed thru '18/'19

Just look at some of the similar priced contracts around the league - Terrance Ross (who might be dating a tranny) just signed a 33mil/3 yr extension, and he's mostly a one trick pony. Most of the players with those type of contracts aren't nearly as young as Burks too, he's still got upside.

Burks is spanking Hayward in nearly every category on a per36 basis.

This tells me that Burks should be getting more minutes.

Burks is actually getting less minutes per game this year than he was in 2013-14 under corbin when he was backing up jefferson.

This is why starting matters. He would be getting over 30 mpg if he were starting.

He finally, for the first time in his career, gets to be a starter last season and goes down with a season ending injury.
Then this year he is the starter during pre-season and plays quite well (Even leads the team in assists) and loses his starting job to a second year late round pick.

Too bad.

Yep. The silver lining is that he's finishing, but so hard to get 30 minutes per when you don't start.

*Without some improvements, Neto only has a few more games as a starter.
*If you're going to close with the 3-wing lineup, then why not start with it?

*If Burks continues to show his willingness to pass, then he should start.

*That bench looking thinner and thinner, doe. But! Too many cakks and pies!

He didn't lose it to Hood. It wasn't a competition. Burks and Burke where placed in the 2nd unit because they are scorers and that was something the Jazz desperately needed in the 2nd unit.

Am I the only one that remembers the Jazz falling down hard in 2nd Qs and at the end of the 3rd? Doesn't seem to be happening this year.

it'd be nice to have a lead going into the 2nd though.
