What's new

Following 2016 potential draftees

Interested to know. Based off of just watching the Jazz so far this year. Which Position do ya's think the 1st round pick will be?

A versatile 4 or 5. Bender would be a beautiful addition.

I'd add that if we miss out on the playoffs and end up with say the 12th pick, I'd strongly consider packaging a lot to get him. Our 12th pick, a 2018 protected 1st, OKC 1st, a bunch of ends, Burke. That may be enough to move up to 5-6 to get him. Probably more like to 7-8 but I'd love him. That said, a lot depends on the next 70 games and how well (or not) Hayward, Burks and Hood play.

Poeltl would also be a great addition. He'd solidify our three bigs rotation. He, along with Lyles developing, and Exum coming back from injury could really, really round out the team.

Exum-Burke
Hood-Burks
Hayward-Ingles
Favors-Lyles
Gobert-Poeltl

I really like that squad though I would (am) still be concerned about perimeter shooting and who our go-to player would be.

You cant play Poetl and Gobert together though. The best fit still remains an athletic PF who can either shoot it or can score.

But you can play him with Favors or Lyles.

And I mentioned Bender first because he's the best fit for need imo.

Stephen Zimmerman is a damn good fit with this Jazz roster. He's 6'11½" listed at 240 lbs and just turned 19. 2/2 so far from 3 this year.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7FoyfF42GAs - Heres all of his made FG's in the first 4 games.

Not trying to hype up how a Lyles-Zimmerman front court would look defensively, but they might be able to hold their own vs small-ball lineups.. and obviously Favors and Gobert allow you to mix and match vs certain opposition.

Zimmerman and Lyles off the bench could potentially add a dimension to the Jazz next year by throwing line-ups with 5 players capable of moving the ball and shooting it from 3 off the bench, I like that look.

7'2" Jonathan Jeanne shoots 3's too, and so does Zhou Qi... Jeanne is actually probably more of a PF at this point in NBA terms, and he's taller than Rudy, he's also got some really nice agility, and some suprising dexterity with the ball in his hands, he can really run too, again much of this applies to Zhou Qi too he's 4/5 from 3 thru 8 games.. Qi's the best shot blocker of the bunch too..
