Trade proposal thread

I'd be pissed if this went through

Knight is clearly the best player in this deal. He's putting up better numbers than Hayward. And I think he would fit along side Exum nicely. Morris gives us a more stretchy 4 that we've been looking for. And I think there's a good chance Booker becomes a better player than Hood. He's shooting over 70% from 3 so far and is the youngest player in the NBA, iirc.

I don't agree with the notion that you have to play small to win a Championship, but I do think the trend we're seeing with 3 point shooting is legit. Last year the 4 teams in the conference finals all ranked in the top 5 in 3 point shooting. The Jazz have a lot of catching up to do in that department, and I think this trade would help get us there.

I'll always be in favor of turning a few pretty good pieces into one really good piece.

Exum
Knight
Hayward
Favors
Gobert

The Jazz would never trade for Morris, I'm sure of this.

1. His numbers suck this year and he has never really had great shooting numbers
2. Character

Knight/Hayward/Favors would be a great offensive trio though. I like Burks a lot this season, but Hood has stunk it up and takes away possessions from Hayward without spreading the floor as much as he should. By trading Burks and Hood, you have a clear 3 man offense, which has negatives and positives. It would suck because our bench would be depleted and all we would have is a disgruntled Morris sulking and sucking (though Booker(s) has come on a bit lately).

Yeah, I get that. He's the least important piece in the trade for us, so idgaf.

Knight just seems like a really good fit to me, and you can't trade for a player like that without giving up something substantial.

Should have drafted Knight and Booker to begin with tbh

Yeah, but I'd rather have Leuer or Teletovic thrown in, not Morris.

Sure, I feel ya. Knight and Booker are the key pieces we'd be getting back. 3 point shooting is beyond necessary in today's NBA, especially since we're building around twin towers. We know we can play elite defense; if we can incorporate elite 3 point shooting, then we'll be cooking (or should I say baking?)

Yeah, Leuer and Teletovic can shoot 3's!

Hood, This years 1st and 2nd round pick, OKC's 2018 1st round pick, GSW's 2nd round pick, Pleiss and Elijah Millsap for Embiid and Jerami Grant.

Come on dude is the worst player in the league. Solid college player but has no business in nba other then philly wants to tank. YOu be a fool to even give up cash for him.

The Sixers have a glut at the PG position right now with McConnell, Canaan, Wroten and Marshall... I do think we could get 1 of them here relatively cheaper.

I think McConnell with his passing ability should fit right in ...

That roster if it made the playoffs which I don't think they would, They would lose in round 1

Hayward and Trey Burke for John Wall and Kelly Oubre

Then Rudy, Ingles, Utah's 2018 2nd rounder and Trevor Booker for Alex Len, Devin Booker and T.J. Warren

Which leaves Wall, Favors, Burks and a trove of rookie contracts.

Wall / (Exum) / Neto / (Hanlan??)
Booker / (Exum) / Burks / Oubre
Burks / Warren / Grant
Favors / Lyles / Warren / Grant
Len / (Embiid) / Lyles / Withey

Thats 13 contracts signed thru next year. 5 thru 2018/2019, and 10 thru 2017/2018, and still tons of cap space... Jeff Withey would be the oldest 25 year old on the team. The average age would be near 22.

So the loss of the 2016 pick is minimal IMO. There's still 2 2nd round picks, and plenty of ammunition for them to fire at any specific target in the draft, if need be.

You've got a legit star in Wall. A stacked core of talent(too much to resign). Resigning Len and Embiid would be key but their both restricted and the other one being there is plenty of insurance.

Pretty sure Wall in untouchable...

The Wizards are faltering in the new and improved eastern conference though, and with Hayward next to Beal, Porter and Trey/Gary Neal they'd have shooters everywhere. Sessions can help hold down the PG position til the offseason too.
