It appears to me that the Jazz have six healthy players that are decent. OK we add Rudy and Dante and that leaves us 8. I think he have to face the fact that the other 7 players are basically garbage. I think that Little Sap, Chris Johnson, JIngles, Neto, Withey, Pleis and Lyles are or should be on thin ice. I know that Neto, Pleis JIngles and Lyles all have a form of guarantees but they are not getting it done folks.

Lyles should get a pass as he is a rookie. And ingle contributed last year so give him a couple more months. Everyone else sucks though.

I know Lyles and JIngles aren't going anywhere but if they weren't on a guaranteed contract they would be sweating right now.

I think Ingles is out because of Gobert. I think Quin feels like he needs some defensive intensity to make up for Rudy.

Any GM would pick Lyles up immediately if he were to get cut. Imagine if the Warriors gave up on Draymond halfway through his rookie year because he wasn't playing well. Give it time.

Lots of your posts are about how we shouldn't have let this or that end of the bench guy go, and most of your others are about how we should pick up this d-league or that d-league flash in the pan, and now you think we should let half our team go? I always assumed you had some sort of unquenchable soft spot for end of the bench guys, but maybe it's actually a soft spot for end of the bench guys that we don't have. AmIright?

Your the worthless one here. Lyles is a 19 year old rookie, who is starting to hit some jumpers and plays with a nice motor.

Ingles proved himself last year and has shown to be a playmaker and energizer.

Neto is also a rookie and has shown some potential and the ability to improve his shot. He just needs time.

This is Whithy's third year, and first time he's ever gotten consistent minutes. He's athletic plays hard and one of the better backup big rim protectors in the NBA.

The rest I don't care about.

Maybe you are the problem. U should be on thin ice and worried about position here. I guess u would prefer to fill those slots with all 6-10 million a year players?! Not going to happen. I see most of these guys having the ability to grow and have futures on this team. I take comfort in the fact that you don't have one damned clue what the hell you are talking about.

All u do is start worthless thread after worthless thread, and rarely get called for it. Maybe it's u that needs to go.

I agree to a point. I like to think of the players in tiers. And let me add I don't consider ANYONE untouchable - not even Gobert. Favors and a great stretch-4 could be even better than Favors/Gobert. I'd rank Derrick as our #1 player, then Gobert and Hayward as tied for 2 and 3.

Tier 1 - Favors, Gobert, Hayward: Would take an unusual trade offer to pry these guys away from Utah. To me - and I know this is controversial - I'd take a good hard look at other options if Hayward wants $28-$30M. He just isn't a #1 option. He rarely takes over games. Yes, he's pretty good on both ends of the court, but not great at anything. Re-signing Favors, IMO, is a bigger priority. As for Rudy, I'm disappointed he didn't improve over who he was last season. That has me worried he's near his ceiling.

Tier 2 - Burks, Hood. Rodney is struggling right now, but his stroke looks so good. Alec has come back strong from his injury. Should only consider trading in a package if Utah gets an all-star player in return.

Tier 3 - Burke, Jingles.. Have played well this season. No idea why Jingles hasn't played more; he actually has the best shooting percentage among the wings. Burke needs to be dealt in a package to get a starting PG.

Tier 4 - Millsap, Johnson, Withey, Pleiss, Neto, Booker. No better than third options at their respective positions. Booker has been a huge disappointment. He shouldn't be re-signed. Neto can't shoot. At best, he should be the 3rd-string PG, not the starter. But Lindsey traded up for him. Dennis is trying to make his choice look good.

Too Early to Tell - Exum, Lyles. I hated the Lyles pick. Still do. But unfair to judge 1/4 of the way through his rookie season. As for Exum, he hasn't shown he's a legit starter. And he's coming back from a major injury. I hope he becomes a tier #2 player.

The guys with guaranteed contracts will not be cut or moved. That isn't how the league works to can them. Now for the guys with non-guarnteed deals they ought to be breathing hard. Litte Sap played OK last night. Withey did OK too. But if there is any smoke to the Toure Murry rumor someone has to hit the waiver wire and I'm guessing it's Johnson based on playing time last night.

I really hope we keep CJ... so tired of Millsap. His offense is so bad and he basically just does one continuous foul on defense. If the ref doesn't call it then great.

Neto is a good 3rd string point guard. Burke is good off the bench. We need that All Star starting PG, and unlike everyone else on this board I am not sold on Dante being that. I think the jury is still out on him for a while.

Withey came into the season as our third-string center and has a 58% FG%. I think he's played pretty well for the little expectations most on this board had for him.

Chris Johnson hasn't had much of a chance to do anything.

Ingles has had his minutes cut almost in half. But he needs to shoot the three more - his 3P% is over 42%

Millsap straight up sucks.

Booker has regressed considerably.

Lyles has sucked pretty badly but he's a skinny rookie who just turned 20 last month. He has to put on 15-lbs of muscle. If he works his butt off in the off-season he should be better. He has good court vision and can run the floor. If he gets a consistent jumper he could shock us.

I know few would agree but I think Pleiss has the chance to be a contributor. He needs to learn the offense and know his role. I think he could be a solid bench player.

Neto could develop into a solid back-up. He needs to be more of a traditional PG but he has potential to be a good rotation player.

Next years lineup:

Exum, Burke, Neto
Burk, Hood
Hayward, Hood, Jingles
Favors, Lyles
Gobert, Withey

I think our PG is set for next year. Exum is going to be solid at that spot and Burke is a great backup PG right now and is improving. Neto can develop and play spot minutes just fine. I think we need to add a solid rotation player at the SG spot or SF spot. We need a 5th big that can play both spots. But the primary back ups are set with Lyles improving and Withey being surprisingly solid in his minutes.

Next off season our primary priority in FA is to get another wing that is solid. Next priority is decent back up big. Unless a really good trade comes along I think we pick up a few players in FA and are good to go next season. This team with Exum back, healthy and with more experience can and will compete for a 3rd or 4th seed in the west next season. I am still pretty confident we make the playoffs this year assuming we dont have another major injury to a main player. This team needs playoff experience now.
