The entire movie is scientifically sound with one exception: The lack of atmosphere on Mars prevents wind at even high speeds from pushing anything around.

This is what my dad said. That the whole premise of him getting caught out in some dust storm is impossible on Mars. Not sure if it's true but...

Yeah, the atmosphere is like < 1% of Earth's atmosphere. The wind could be near two hundred mph and it might feel like the equivalent of a gentle breeze on earth.

So is gravity less or more on mars in comparison to earth? Based on the movie i assume it's more since it always seemed like damon was really laboring when he would walk about mars surface outside the station

Gravity is way less. I think it's just the fact that spacesuits are heavy as ****.

I want to say Mars is like 1/3rd gravity, so 100 lbs is like 33 lbs on Mars, but the suits they wear outside are easily over 250 lbs and he was malnourished.

So a 180 lb man would be like 60 lbs and add 100 lbs for teh suit, so close to the same weigh 160 lbs.

Got to say The Hateful Eight is probably my least favorite Tarantino film. Not bad by any stretch, but did not live up to my expectations.
