I Was At Last Night's Knicks/Jazz Game

Yes, I was there at the Garden last night for a classic b-ball game. Overtime....Knicks WIN!!!!

Not here to gloat, just to give my impressions of your team:

-- much hate in the Garden for Hayward. Every time Hayward touched the ball a guy in the upper level seats shouted "F*** You, Hayward!". Every time. Loud as hell. Wonder if it could be heard on your TV. "F*** You, Heyward!" There was also a "Hayward's A Virgin" chant along with your typical "Hayward Sucks" shouts. OJ Simpson could come to the Garden and wouldn't get ragged on the way Hayward was. Heyward really got abused by the Garden last night.

-- glad you Jazz fans got a look at Porzingis. The supposed "another Euro-bust" is anything but, right?

-- Gobert is a top, top player. Sitting in the arena last night I sure got a feel from the Garden fans that Gobert gained our respect.

-- Heyward actually played some good D against Melo, but Melo being Melo put up another "he's got 30?" and torched your team. He killed you and there was nothing you could do to stop him. The guy can score 30 in the blink of an eye.

-- we knew that Hood could play ball, but didn't know he could play that well. Great to see a guy have a breakout game and do it on the grand stage of the Garden. That's a career defining game for that young man. Three years ago Curry put up 54 at the Garden and that got his ball rolling. Not saying your man Hood is going to be another Steph, but to put up 29 at your first appearance at the Garden...man, you Jazz fans should be happy. That guy was giving us fits last night. We cursed him.

-- have to admit, Heyward hitting three free throws with 2 seconds left in regulation to send the game to OT in an arena that was loudly savaging him...classic Garden moment. Abused for 48 minutes and what does he do? Shuts us all up. Ice water in the veins. Clutch player. Great player. We were stunned that he made all three. We were also very impressed. Respect.

-- went to the game with a nephew who was wearing a Heyward shirt and surprisingly there were other Jazz fans at the game. Right behind us were two Jazz fans, on train ride home a Jazz fan...kind of surprised to see that of the 19,000 at the Garden there were some Utah fans. Good show. Support your team thousand miles away in very hostile territory.

Once again, not here to gloat, but, man, we needed that game (so did you) and we dug down deep and took it from you. But you came away looking pretty formidable. Heyward, Gobert, Hood....great players. But you still need a Melo and a Porzingis and then you got something. Until then....we kill you every time.

Great game, great show, glad I was there.

I went to the Knicks vs Heat game in November, and I thought the crowd at MSG was asleep because it was so dead there. Then again I got blackout drunk that night, so...

Why would people hate Hayward? I mean, most of us did when we thought he'd be a glorious bust, but that's very different, and he's also not a bust. So...?

Why would people hate Hayward?
That's the question. I have no idea why the guy was getting such obscene insults hurled at him. Maybe you Jazz fans can clue me in on somethings I don't know about him. Did he beat his girlfriend in an elevator? I don't know. All I know the poor guy got savaged last night at the Garden and then he calmly stepped up to the free throw line, easily sunk three to send the game to OT and shut the crowd up.

Knicks - 118, Jazz - 111. Lol.

I'll bet you've been waiting for decades to troll team forums. Truth is, no one, outside of NY and casual fans, cares about the Knicks. They've been a such a joke for so long they're no longer relevant. MSG was rocking like it was a playoff game last night, obviously NY fans respect the Jazz. Well, it's not reciprocal. The Knicks at ESA, as s season ticket holder, is a game I skip.

You're boring.

Knick fans talkin smack...what is this, 1994?
We got:

- best rookie the league has seen since Jordan
- best second year coach in NBA history. Won 17 games all last year, it's only January and he has already led us to 22 wins!
- we have Melo

Jazz an eight seed right now, a playoff team...and we killed you last night. Man, if we played in that weak Western Conference the Knicks would have a better record than even Golden State.

First post was decent. But these bolded ones are funny. No.

What the hell is ESA? Is that Utah's version of the legendary shorthand MSG?

No offense, kid, but if you skip a Knick game then you sure have no business being a basketball season ticket holder. No interest in seeing Porzingis? Uhh, news alert, the fourth highest selling jersey is Porzingis. Curry, LeBron, Kobe, PORZINGIS. Pretty good company. B-ball fans all over the world are interested in the guy, but you won't go see him play live. Typical non-fan of the game. Utah Jazz deserves the likes of you. You probably go to the games just to see some dopey guy attempt a half-court shot at halftime. Get rid of your tickets, kid. Give them to a basketball fan who appreciates good players regardless of what team they play for.

The Knicks. lol.

and we killed you last night.

You think beating a team in overtime = "killing a team?"
lol you are funny. you should look at the score of the game earlier this year when new york came to utah.

Oh and btw, the jazz are missing 3 of their best players.

Jazz don't need a Melo or Porz, we need a healthy Exum, Favors, and Burks.

Brah, I got Zingis fever too, but you got full-blown dementia if you think you'd have a better record than GS. Care to rethink that one?

OK I will try to address this but there is a hundred people on here that can do this better than me. The Knicks put up a great fight and got back in the game. Congrats and well played. Having said that, what did they beat really? All of us jazz fans know but you being an outsider may be unaware. We have been riddled with injuries this year. Our starting point guard who is our defensive specialist and is out with a season long knee injury, in his place is a 2nd round pick rookie. Our boarderline allstar power forward is out for the the last 15 games with back issues, in his place is one of the youngest players/rookie in the league who was suppose to ride pine this year and "learn". Our sixth man is also out with a broken ankle, who plays more minutes than many starters in the league, his replacement is a call up from the D-league.

Not to mention that you also got to see Gobert in his 2nd or 3rd game back from a bad knee injury so he is not at full strength by an means.

So, yes the knicks got the win but really it was against our JV team. Not a win that you really want to hang up in the rafters and brag about. You were suppose to win and it took an overtime to get it done.

Yes your rookie is a very nice player and will carry NY for many years to come.

We have seen Porz play already, your coach thought it was best to save him embarrassment by our bigs and didnt let him play much. Those Euro egos are fragile. When Favs was healthy it was 106-85 and Jazz never thought twice about Knicks being a real team to worry about. Glad you caught us without 3 of our best players. Next time we are healthy it will be a blowout again.
