I Was At Last Night's Knicks/Jazz Game

There is not one basketball mind with any sense that would take the Knicks Roster over the Jazz roster as currently constituted. Nor would anyone in their right mind take Coach Fish over Coach Q.

Brah, I got Zingis fever too, but you got full-blown dementia if you think you'd have a better record than GS. Care to rethink that one?
Just saying the West is the weaker conference this year. We would have a better record if we played the likes of Utah four times a year.

Yeah, and we were missing Patrick Ewing, Bernard King, and Walt "Clyde" Frazier.
Quit making excuses. Every team can claim injuries or other silly excuses. You got beat. Take it.
Don't ever change and please stick around. Laughs and good times are my favorite thing about the jazzfanz community. You provide lots of laughs and good times

We would have a better record if we played in the Leastern Conference. We have a 8-7 record against the East this year and that record is going to get even better. By the way you are 7-7 against the west sooo.. No different of a record.

And we didn't even have Rudy Gobert for that game

What has been the Knicks record the last 10+ years in the east? Should we go back 20 years? How long has it been since the East was even marginally better than the West?

please stick around.
What's to stick around for? More excuses? Jazz fans telling me their team is better than the 72-10 Bulls?

I came here to say some nice things about three Jazz players I saw perform in person last night -- Hayward, Gobert, and Hood. Played like champs last night at the Garden. I didn't come here to gloat. Just some kind words from NYC. I did expect fans here to be cool in defeat, take it like men, and bow down and say, "Yes, the Knicks killed us. Respect to your team." You losers can't even be good losers. No character. Not men. That's why you were knocked out of the playoffs last night by my Melo, my Porzingis, my coach Fisher, and my Knicks.

The Knicks are the future of basketball. You Jazz "fans" are living on a past of Stockton, Malone, and Deron Williams. Forget it Jazz fans, Porzingis is the future of the game. We got him and you got nothing but clips of Stockton, Malone, and D-Will on youtube. Sad. You Jazz fans are the same as Seattle SuperSonic fans. Living on nothing but past, fading memories.

-- much hate in the Garden for Hayward. Every time Hayward touched the ball a guy in the upper level seats shouted "F*** You, Hayward!". Every time. Loud as hell. Wonder if it could be heard on your TV. "F*** You, Heyward!" There was also a "Hayward's A Virgin" chant along with your typical "Hayward Sucks" shouts. OJ Simpson could come to the Garden and wouldn't get ragged on the way Hayward was. Heyward really got abused by the Garden last night.

Is that the best Knicks fans have? How sad for a once proud franchise. (Once proud being around the time of the Nixon administration).

Yes, I was there at the Garden last night for a classic b-ball game. Overtime....Knicks WIN!!!!

Not here to gloat, just to give my impressions of your team:

-- much hate in the Garden for Hayward. Every time Hayward touched the ball a guy in the upper level seats shouted "F*** You, Hayward!". Every time. Loud as hell. Wonder if it could be heard on your TV. "F*** You, Heyward!" There was also a "Hayward's A Virgin" chant along with your typical "Hayward Sucks" shouts. OJ Simpson could come to the Garden and wouldn't get ragged on the way Hayward was. Heyward really got abused by the Garden last night.

-- glad you Jazz fans got a look at Porzingis. The supposed "another Euro-bust" is anything but, right?

-- Gobert is a top, top player. Sitting in the arena last night I sure got a feel from the Garden fans that Gobert gained our respect.

-- Heyward actually played some good D against Melo, but Melo being Melo put up another "he's got 30?" and torched your team. He killed you and there was nothing you could do to stop him. The guy can score 30 in the blink of an eye.

-- we knew that Hood could play ball, but didn't know he could play that well. Great to see a guy have a breakout game and do it on the grand stage of the Garden. That's a career defining game for that young man. Three years ago Curry put up 54 at the Garden and that got his ball rolling. Not saying your man Hood is going to be another Steph, but to put up 29 at your first appearance at the Garden...man, you Jazz fans should be happy. That guy was giving us fits last night. We cursed him.

-- have to admit, Heyward hitting three free throws with 2 seconds left in regulation to send the game to OT in an arena that was loudly savaging him...classic Garden moment. Abused for 48 minutes and what does he do? Shuts us all up. Ice water in the veins. Clutch player. Great player. We were stunned that he made all three. We were also very impressed. Respect.

-- went to the game with a nephew who was wearing a Heyward shirt and surprisingly there were other Jazz fans at the game. Right behind us were two Jazz fans, on train ride home a Jazz fan...kind of surprised to see that of the 19,000 at the Garden there were some Utah fans. Good show. Support your team thousand miles away in very hostile territory.

Once again, not here to gloat, but, man, we needed that game (so did you) and we dug down deep and took it from you. But you came away looking pretty formidable. Heyward, Gobert, Hood....great players. But you still need a Melo and a Porzingis and then you got something. Until then....we kill you every time.

Great game, great show, glad I was there.

Thanks for the post, it was fun to read your perspective. Regarding the bold part, though, I'm pretty sure an overtime win can't be considered a killing.

Damn the Knicks royally suck. Melo had 12 points? Even Trey Lyles has had better games than that.

"Only if you adore my team that has mostly sucked in its history can you even attempt to know the game of basketball."

See the minutes Melo and Porzingis played? Just 26 and 13. That's called a brilliant Coach Popovich strategy. Fisher was saving Melo and Porzingis's legs for last night's game. It worked. We killed the Jazz last night.

What's far sadder for the Knicks is they play in the largest market in the country and they still have sucked for all this time.

How can a team play in New York City and the Garden and not get good free agents? It's pretty pathetic really.

"Yes, the Knicks killed us.

You still don't seem to be able to grasp what it means to "kill" a team.
I will help you.
See below.

So just to recap: what the jazz did to the Knicks in utah was straight kill them.

What the Knicks did to the jazz last night (get beat for the majority of the game and then come back in the 4th to win in OT) is not considered a killing.

Hope that helps you

Don't make excuses. Just be a man and admit that the jazz killed the Knicks in utah

Killed? We killed you in our home game above. You squeaked out a close game in OT...

But im sorry, you have sucked so bad for so long that if you need a game to hang your hat on as your big time win against the second youngest team in the NBA, who is missing 3 of their top 5 players then go for it:

Good job you are barely better at home (not on the road since we destroyed you) then a lowly, injury depleted, young 8 seed in the west.
