The Return

I would've traded Bryce Cotton for Porz. The Knicks would've too.

This thread is lovely.

When Kemba Walker was abusing the Jazz Cotton might have been what the doctor ordered. Force Kemba to play D a little against a guy as quick and he might be too tired to score.
Hey maybe we win that game with cotton maybe not. I wouldn't call this a successful season if we win that have though so he still wouldn't be our ticket to success.
Unless you have seen something from cotton that makes you think he is an all star. If that is the case then lolololol at you too

Geez so many sour / salty fans on here. I never insulted the Jazz, just facts. I am very grateful for the opportunity they gave Cotton. You saw Cotton play in I believe COMBINED 8 NBA games, maybe 4 pre-season games? To write a player off, like the fans on here have, after that is laughable.

Also "My Knicks" is a very common term fyi- I know being in Utah, the center of nowhere, sometimes disconnects you from the world. If you don't know what a Friar is, google it. You guys have internet in Utah, right?

Oh yea also, Kris Dunn is the best PG in the country.

Well, first of all, you're a dick for starting this thread. Every chance Bryce had, in pre season with Utah, and then with Phoenix, he failed to help his own cause. I was hoping the opposite would be the case, but you have to take advantage of your opportunities when presented, and unfortunately he did not. Yet he thrives in D League.

Here is a nice no look dime from one of his first games back with Austin:

All you do starting a thread like this is cause these guys to hate anything to do with Providence, judging from some of the comments posted. And you know what? We will be lucky not to get blown out Sunday against Nova. Game moved to 1 PM Sunday due to the blizzard. I love Kris Dunn, but right now he is not playing like the National POY. He just isn't. Maybe Sunday will be a highlight for the Friars, maybe not.
But why take it out on these guys just because Cotton isn't sticking at this level? What a stupid, stupid thread! Don't look now, but nobody on JazzFanz got Cotton cut, and some were rooting for him at the time.
It's life, for God's sake. Some make it, some don't. He probably could help some teams in this league. But if he doesn't get that chance, that's life! He tried. He still is trying. A 10 day somewhere could happen. This league is where the best of the best play. It ain't easy to stick....

Sorry, I did not know that Cotton highlight had already been posted.

The Friars are so named because Providence College is operated by the Dominicans of the Catholic Church. The so-called "Catholic Seven" were the 7 colleges in the old Big East who formed their own league when almighty football caused realignment in college sports. Dave Gavitt always dreamed of an Eastern all basketball league. As most know, by the time the Big East peaked, it had become one of the best Division 1 bb leagues. Three teams in the Final Four very early in that league's existence. The Catholic Seven invited Xavier, Butler, and Creighton to join them, and thus we have the so-called New Big East. Many fans of schools that left the league continue to use the term "New Big East" derisively, to rub in that they will never be what the old Big East was. Some of us, on the other hand, see the existence of the present Big East as the very dream Dave Gavitt had all along. A league revolving around quality bb. And "true" fans of college ball should root for it's success. It's flipping the bird at the Power 5 conferences and almighty $$ football.

The Friars get their name because the school is run by the Dominican Order of the Catholic monastic tradition. Dominican Friars. I don't blame anyone here for slamming them, given GoFriars asinine post....

And BTW, Utah is God's country!! Middle of nowhere? Well, it's the most scenic and beautiful middle of nowhere you'll ever know! Take your breath away beautiful. Living right on the ocean my entire life, I'm sure I would miss it if I moved. But Utah is soothing to the soul. I regard people who live in a Utah to be extremely lucky. In fact, I am still hoping some day to give my wife a tour of that state. Been out there twice and will never forget it. It is God's country, and you should be do lucky to live there!
