Jazz vs Pistons tonight 7pm MST

Troy Daniels hits an epic 3 pointer. Hornets beat Kings in double OT. Just like they did against us.

Srs... it's time to start thinking about a draft pick. I ****ing hate to say it, but it's true. **** Dennis Lindsey for hanging us all out to dry. And **** Synder for not installing anything like an offense that can win games. How hot can a seat get when a team repeatedly ****s the bed in games decided by 5 points?

Agreed, but it seems like most teams are running offensive sets that are similar, meaning the NBA is mostly unwatchable. I literally havent missed a Jazz game in probably 15 years except for a few that were not televised locally when I was still a Utard. I've watched every game this year, but I am really close to taking a break. I can't emphasize how much I dislike our sets. I miss what used to make the Jazz unique.

All the more reason for the Jazz to actually try something different. Maybe I would not be so angry at the number of threes taken by the Jazz this year if they looked like they happened by design as opposed to looking like the team ran out of ideas late in the shot clock or Burke thought "Hey, why NOT take this three."

Wow, nervous fans here...

Look the NBA isn't an easy business. After the All star break last year, for 30 games all was rosy for this team. This year it's hard, there are injuries (let's all remember Exum as well), they are better scouted by opposing teams, etc.. it's not easy. It's a growth experience. Success just doesn't happen suddenly. Curry's Warriors had 3 losing seasons before starting to gel, same for Jordan's Bulls. Sure we are far far far remote from that ballpark, but Exum had only one season before being injured, Gobert is in his 3rd season, his first having been almost a write off. Hood and Lyles are very young too. Sure Favors, Hayward and Burks are older but only 24, 25 and 24.

Patience guys, patience... This team still has plenty of room to grow and is growing before our eyes. It might not go as quickly as hoped, but at some point you have to trust the process when the process makes sense. This isn't some Philadelphia's Hinkie "trust the process" dementia. This is a team with a very good young group, growing together. It might not work, it might never be super duper good because the NBA is a nasty business, but it's done the right way.

Really bad punch to the gut losing to the Pistons twice this year. Sure they are a lot better than we thought, and aren't a bad team. Its just that I thought we'd be better. Hayward with the few turnovers. Lyles giving us nothing. Burke with a 2014-2015 type stinker of a game. We are just right below that line of winning a lot of these games. Clearly a piece is missing. The PG shot needs a vet if we are going to make a run. **** it.

Epic game from Gobert. I can't complain about this loss, considering the injuries and that performance... Rudy's a beast, Andre Drummond is no punk -- that's not easy to do.

Reggie Jackson signed a 5 year / 80 million dollar deal and the Jazz have all PG's on rookie contracts, it's a serious mismatch..

The Jazz will be one of the 29 losers at the end of the season, I think they knew this during Free Agency. I said several times during FA that if the Jazz got injured, they'd pull the plug for one last tank (it makes sense!) shortly thereafter Exum went down and they've been riddled with injuries ever since.

No reason to panic though.. They're a win or 2 out of the playoffs, and a few losses away from the 6th worst record in the league. It's not the worst position to be in, teams as young as Utah shouldn't be expected to make the playoffs with all these injuries, and they're still very much in striking distance..

A top 6 pick would mean they could possibly land a tier 1 player in this draft, shouldn't be overlooked with all the rookie contracts on the team now, the cheap 4 year deals to be signed the next few summer could open up cap space(as a placeholder), then they could match any deals on players like Lyles or this next draft pick the following summer to go over the cap.. Winning's important, but not as important as getting this young team the best core of players possible..

The top PG prospects, Jamal Murray and Kris Dunn are both 6'4-ish, The Jazz rotation would be monstrous with one of them as a backup(Murray can also play off the ball effectively) and Exum back.. They could also possibly land a bigguy with some real offensive talent, like Skal who's 7' and could play PF next to Rudy or C next to Favors.

Pivotal play: Jazz within 6. Ingles misses a three. Detroit hits a three. It's a nine point game instead of a six point game.
