What's new

Lob from Half-Court

Sometimes you have to take risk and gamble that his injury history was merely a fluke.

Yeah, but I'm not sure risk versus reward makes sense for us in this case. It's not like we're taking a risk on Kevin Durant. I like the guy, but I would pass.

His January stats are:

18 ppg
7 apg
4 rpg
45% shooting
32$ 3pt shooting (38% on the year tho).

So it's not just a single game for him ,he has been doing great this year despite recovering from injuries and he is definitely projecting upwards. We probably should have bought his stock low earlier in the year.

How old is he again? And what's his contract like?

Get the rumor out there that DL is discussing Jrue with New Orleans. That puts pressure on Atlanta to lower their asking price and pull the trigger.

Yep. Atlanta reads jazzfanz. They basically get all their info from here.
I meant the FO should get the rumor out there. Jazz are tight-lipped but some rumors do leak. Obviously there's no need to protect Burke's feelings. He's been involved in trade rumors for the last couple of seasons, And now Burks' name is out there. Let the NO writers publish the info.

I like it.

I was actually thinking about throwing it out there too, but we know how that goes. People will hate it just because it's me.

Jrue has been way better than Teague this year.

I'd like him over Teague for sure. Still wouldn't want Hood in the deal. Burke/Burks/pick though? I'd do that. Think he fits better with what we've currently got than Burks does.

I've been pumping Holiday for months but I wouldn't give up that much for him. Too injury prone.

It's a risky move based on Jrue's injury. But he's been healthy this season minus missing a few random games. I'd do Burke and filler (like the 2017 Golden State pick) but wouldn't give up Burks.

And Burks isnt?

does Burks have some chronic injury issue I'm unaware of?

The labrum was something he'd had since college. This latest injury can't be blamed on his body.

(you'll respond by talking about his playing style. And then I'll respond with a LOL.)

Word. I kinda liked this idea at first, but then you showed up, and now it seems a lot more sucky.

Well he has had surgery in back-to-back seasons.

Holiday had surgery in back-to-back seasons.

this idea would totally be worth the risk. Holiday has some real skill, give him limited minutes and it could be a real upgrade

^even dumber than "playing styles" as a response.

You're aware of the need to address the injuries themselves, not just count them, right?

I'd rather have Burks, so I'm a "no thanks" for Jrue.

PG is an issue, but the Jazz shouldn't make desperation moves to upgrade the position while Dante is injured.

If the Jazz trade Burks (age/talent/contract) they need something rock solid back in return. Not sure that Holliday or Teague fits that description.

Burke, Booker and/or picks? Sure. But I hang onto Burks unless I'm getting the best player back in the trade.
