I don't understand what it means when something is 1-7 protected. So, if GS draws the 1-7th pick, do we get it?

That protection isn't so bad as GS is improving and I see them projecting to get about the 8th-15th pick anyway.

I'm leaning towards hoping the Jazz make the playoffs this year - even if that means first round exit via San Antonio. Picks-wise that would mean Jazz give their pick away this year and keep their pick the next year. This year is underwhelming. 2012 there's a SG named Austin Rivers who sounds pretty good.
