If you actually watched the games you would realise how ludicrous your statement is. Hayward is about the only player that isn't a problem, he produces nearly every single damned game. Building around Hood as the future is a joke, he's way too limited and inconsistent.

I know it is easy to dump on Thriller, but trading Hayward cannot be easily dismissed. I haven't read the KSL story, but I posted about trading Hayward a month ago. It is arguable about whether it is the best thing for the team, but we will never know. But if we try to predict what the jazz will do the picture becomes much clearer. Try to think like Lindsey: Lindsey thinks 27 is old, Lindsey trades assets before they expire, Lindsey believes a franchise is built around a superstar, Lindsey thinks "holy crap I gotta do something before I become unemployed".

I got hyped about the rally churro, now I am back on the tank wagon. Lindsey had no real hope of making the playoffs this year, he sold us a long con tank job. This year has been about maximizing Haywards Value...mission accomplished. Now Lindsey can trade him to boston and start baking another cake.

Hello, that is what we have done. Hayward hasnt done anything to put us over the hump. We traded away everyone giving him the team he hasnt done anything. He gets garbage stats when no one is playing tough he is a complete front runner. This. I blame DL. Aside from Burks, the injury magnet, our bench isn't an NBA roster. Lyles is a maybe, and Snyder plays Booker instead. We also have three third sting point guards, an unproven pg with a career-alerting injury who missed a full year of development. Lindsey sat on his hands and this is the crap Snyder had to work with. Joe Ingles? Booker? Chris Johnson (after Millsap fell through)? Come on. How terrible is it that the Rockets look better right now? Disaster.

I've said this, called Lindsey out, and have been called either a pessimist or a drama queen. It is SQUARELY on the shoulders of Lindsey. He's been an inferior GM to date. He's had 3 years of cap space to work with. And what has he given us? Booker, Withey, Pleiss, Johnson. And the amazing trade for Mr. Mack.Even KOC did MORE on the free agent front while still having good young players to develop.

As for draft picks, Hood is a nice player. Gobert is a good rim protector, but a freaking nightmare on the other end. It's pretty bad when you wonder whether a starter is going to have more turnovers than points. Exum would have been picked at that spot by Lindsey or any other GM. So even if he ISN'T the Jazz' franchise player, I won't fault Dennis. Oh and we have the prima ballerina, Trey Lyles. Do you think it would have been nice to have a guy who can make baskets when we're losing all these games by 1-7 points?

As sneakers said, we're expecting significant free agent signings this summer? There is way more demand (cap space) than supply. We've seen overheated markets before, but NEVER like the one coming up. Jazz won't do ANYTHING. if Lindsey hasn't liked the prices the last three seasons, he's certainly not going to open the wallet this summer.

I'm about done with this franchise. Larry H. was PASSIONATE about the team. It has been poorly run since his death. Greg didn't give a **** and the board only cares about profits. Not that I'm ever wishing for someone's death, but I feel as if the ONLY way that money is going to be invested in players is when Gail passes away and the Miller children decide to cash out. Let's HOPE local investors buy the team and give us something more than the 3rd lowest spending team in the league. That just ISN'T going to field a contender.

I'd ditch Gobert before I'd ditch Hayward, to be honest.

You really are an idiot. Rudy has been nothing like what impact he had last year. He can't even catch the damn ball. Listen to how other teams talk about Hayward, he's one of the best all around complete team players in the league. He may not be superstar No.1 on a championship contender but only an absolute moron would say he wouldn't be a stellar no.2 to a real superstar.

Hayward is a solid 2.
Let's face it, Jazz go 3-on-5 every time down the court on offense, with Hands of Stone (Gobert) and the worst PG rotation in the league (and maybe even the DLeague). Even at that, Gordon averages >20 pts/per. That's not bad.

But I do agree he's not a #1 option. And when Lindsey fails to upgrade the team this summer - other than saying Dante will be the biggest "addition" - Gordon is as good as gone in 2017 when he opts out. Dumb**** Lindsey needs to trade Hayward before he walks away for nothing and Utah starts to rebuild all over again.

The Jazz rely entirely on Hayward and Hood to beat their defender and create offense out of thin air. The reason is, we have three (3!) non-shooters on the floor with them. We can rotate the ball and cut all we want, but we don't have the shooting to actually score the ball. So instead we slow down the game, make it a defensive battle and ask Hayward and Hood to create everything.

The Jazz can defend and rebound, but they can't score when the other team clamps down.

I did too, even a bit earlier than you, IINM , outlining the salary outlook for '18/'19. KSL is late to the party. Probably got the idea from reading our posts. I'm not so sold on DL as you are, though. What assets has he really obtained? 2nd-round picks are worthless and he's wasted a few (trading for later ones or selling for cash). Got a couple of extra firsts for tearing down the team and getting rid of Millsap and Carroll. Blew a couple by trading up for Burke. His SOLE hope lies on Dante Exum. That is the net result of the "GM tank." Gobert would have been available with the Jazz' pick had they made the playoffs. Oh yeah, substitute Hood for Carroll. And I guess we see what the GS pick next year brings. Kanter trade would have occurred in any scenario, so no gain from the "tank."

Do you think in the overheated market this summer, Utah will find anyone better than Millsap and DMC. And BOTH would have likely been signed to 4yr deals for a LOT cheaper had they been signed after the 2013 season. Jazz are 28th in payroll. No problem with keeping both of them and still being well under the tax threshold.

It'll be interesting to see the puppetry that will be going on in the off season. I'll love to see which current 'free agent' roster player the Jazz are banking on as being a key addition (will it be Exum, or Alec again?)

Snyder has me perplexed on the offensive end. Rather than setting up his available talent for success through playmaking, he seems to be throwing some of his passers and playmakers into the fire in order for them to figure out the looks for the team on the fly. When our 3PT is not on, like tonight, then our offense is unadulterated garbage. Absolutely hideous basketball to watch. The only time we score uncontested shots are through broken routes and unattentive defensive rotations (which happens rarely for us, since our offense you can set your watch to)

We can't even figure out how to space our three point shooters into position when most of the defense is packed around the paint.

Then there's Lindsey, who's offseason and trade deadline moves have been nothing short of, well, almost nothing. I have a feeling we will be seeing some movement this off season or there will be a lot of angry fans. Of course, this is Utah, and then again management will let crap slide right along.
